No doubt, very excited to have him on the team. - belcherbd
yeah I would be IF van was a more contending team and the price was a bit different. Glad to have him but not glad what we gave up but if he helps van win games, I won't complain
I agree, basing it off one season would be silly and why I am saying that they both slot in the 3-4 spots. If I were to base it off one season of Hutton I would have no problem saying Gudbranson slots in as our 4th best D. - belcherbd
Fair enough, I thought Hutton played like a 6th Dman so clearly we disagree

No it's not, I've seen enough of Gundbranson to have a strong opinion of his value. - CanuckDon
Oh OK. I just thought Vancouver fans argument worked both ways (like work would get in the way like the Van vs Leafs game). Works just one way. As you were then.
On our team? as in you thought that Sbisa, Bartkowski/Biega were more effective players ?
I think we must disagree. back to normal I guess. - belcherbd
I think my posts go over your head sometimes? Hutton was our third best Dman...that doesn't mean he is a top 4 on a good team we are not a good team I'm sayin EG is a top 4 on a good team while Hutton most certainly isn't. Therefore, suggesting Hutton > EG =
I'm not sure what Gundbranson is...but I know this much, he is either our 2nd or 3rd best Dman. So that's makes him a top 2 or 3 on a good team? - CanuckDon
He is a 3/4 Dman . Too much bloody whinning by the same guys every time.
We gave up a centre who was playing wing and will most likely be playing wing in Fla . Three four years from now who knows how he will do.
Once EG drops the gloves to protect a team mate they will love him here.
I remember the night Pedan had the 8 hits people were going nuts. EG plays like that every night

If you are ever uncertain just remind yourself that Canucks fans know more than Leafs fans. Then everything will become crystal clear
Just listened to this, sorry if it has already been shared....
Benning on the 2nd round pick, that after talking about they realized that the players they were looking at in that position would be 5 or 6 years away from helping the team..... no poop
I don't think it could be any clearer that there is no rebuild. - belcherbd
The person that would have been 5-6 years away because unlike what Lefty says after 15-20 the talent is thin.
I think Benning knows a little more about drafting than you do.

Some of us are employed, others are hockey experts. You know the drill.

Fair enough, like I said very early to be projecting Hutton.

No need to be petulant, I'm not claiming anything like that.
Do you disagree that this team is focused on winning now? - belcherbd
I sure hope the hell they are focusing in on winning now. We will have had three top ten picks in the last four years .How many do you need?
Not all seven players drafted every year make the NHL. One or two per year make the team. We had six drafted picks under the age of 24 play last year and within the next two years we should have Demko Boeser and this years pick.
That will be 9 players less McCann. Talk about b1tching about nothing.
The second round this year is mostly undersized high risk players. Who cares .

It is a balance, they want to remain competitive/make the playoffs, but draft and develop. The drafting and developing is opposed to the tdl rentals for the playoffs, I hope.

Ok.....I hope we win and all those guys turn out as well.

We haven't seen enough of the drafting and developing part IMO.
