i'm just going to overlook the SS talk.
Here is what i look forward to.
2017 lineup.
Sedin/Sedin/JV
Lucic/Bo/Boesser
Sven/Sutter/Tkatchuk
Dorset/whoever/Etem - dbot
When you have three hockey insiders like Friedman Lebrun and Kypreos say Vancouver will be all in to get SS
The GM says we might make a run at a really big signing, and an ownership that wants to win now, it is a possibility they go all in. |

For those who think Stamkos is out of the reach. If Canucks are truly in a win now mode , what better way to attract a player by making him the highest paid player in the history of the NHL? - VANTEL
Means nothing if he doesn't want to come here. He will probably stay in Tampa or sign in his hometown. |

I think Bo can be a future captain. Met him a few times, he is a big kid, fast, smart, versatile and he has a nice shot. McCann may have better hands but I don't think he is better in any other areas. Bo has the intangibles that you can't teach - CanuckDon
McCann has an overall better release and shot than Bo but that's where it ends. Bo is so much more well rounded in so many different areas over McCann. I see McCann as an RNH-style player where Bo will be more of a Bergeron-style guy for us and leader. McCann needs top 6 minutes to succeed where Bo does not. |

how the hell would they even come up with that number? Certainly havent havent talked to SS or JB....invention in someones mind sitting in their basement.
The problem is unless we get SS or some other good UFA we need a seasoned pro like Hanson....Once you know theyre here then he's expendable. But youre right that the right trades could make Van better for UFAs. So it's a gamble trading in advance of FA.
Any player following the canucks should be able to see the addition of Gudbranson and tryamkin with larson nilsson stetcher in tow should be able to see an up and coming strong D.
Love Nilssons highlight videos...hits hits hits hits - SMBDragon
Question is of course does Hansen fit the long-term goals of what Benning wants…if you can get value for him now gotta move him or it's Vrbata all over again when he is off the Sedin line. |

Real good…he'll be even better once he is away from Miller and Melanson. |

Imagine if they added Tyson Barrie, the D would have a very different look this fall. |

They are talking about it and I think Benning has to get in on the offers. But analytically is Stamkos on the decline? If he plays an 82 game sched then sure we are guaranteed 45+ goals but do we take the risk with Stamkos potential injuries? Sure injuries are a crap shoot for all players but they seem to be creeping up on Stamkos. I guess I'm bouncing on the fact that Eriksson and Lucic/Brouwer might be a better option but Stamkos is a HUGE draw for ownership and will fill those empty seats…it's a business I get it. But blowing our whole wad on Stamkos how do we fill the other gaps/needs popping up? |

I'd be all for it. Barrie is so good and an impact guy. I'd prefer barrie over Yandle. |

I can see Miller and Edler gone but the Sedins will be around with 1 year deals…you can pretty much take it to the bank. |

Yeah true enough…Barrie would just be better long-term if that's a direction they want to go. |

For the next 5 weeks there will be a lot of crazy speculation and ridiculous proposals . We know they have a few more moves up their sleeves so it is going to be interesting. |

The Sedins will stay as long as they think they can be competitive. They're gamers. Benning will do everything he can to make this team competitive enough to win a cup before they retire.

According to websites the Canucks have around 12 to 14 million in cap space, they also have four RFA's to sign with most likely one-way contracts (Pedan, Vey, Baertschi, Etem) which will probably take up four to five million of that. So they'll have to make some other moves to sign Stamkos or even be in the ballpark to take a run at him.
According to General Fanager the Nucks already have $61,547,915 committed to 11 forwards, 7 defense & 2 goaltenders.

Lots of teams have more space than the Canucks do, but I'd love for them to throw 11 million at Stamkos. |

Yup....Stamkos most likely goes to Toronto, they have more money and its home for him. But Benning should be kicking tires for sure.
You can go 10% over the cap in the summer too! |

The fact no one on the team shows up in better shape, goes a long way showing the kids what it takes. |
