Actually, it isn't.
Here you can find all of our first round picks.....ever.
You could make a pretty good team if you used all of them.....ever.

Ok, then I'll just say this and drop it, you think 2 draft picks in the 10-25 range will somehow be better than whoever gets drafted 5OA, I don't. You might be right, but when you're short on blue-chip talent and you have that high of a pick, you need to use it and pick the BPA, you disagree, fine. Bottom line for me is, I don't see how getting two players in the first round who aren't Matthews/Laine/Puljuvari somehow will be that much better than Tkachuk/Dubois or whoever gets picked 5OA. You might be right, but if you choose wrong, you're screwed. I'd rather choose the surer thing myself. |

SMBDragon will coach him into putting himself into better positions offensively. Have no fears. - golfingsince
Whatever the issue is I am sure they can just practice more. |

Do you guys remember when Nucker was very, very vocal about us trading up for Reinhart ?I'm pretty sure he wanted us to trade up to #1OA.
I'm also pretty sure Thunda was saying Draisaitl would be better, I was saying Bennett would be better, DCT was saying Ehlers would be better. I wanted Nylander at our draft position.
Anyways, the point is that there are very few can't miss prospects in any given draft. It's not like he have the 1st or 2nd pick. We have the 5th, and a GM who's strength is apparently drafting. I'd rather him have more than 1 first rounder.
By the way, All-Star Dylan Larkin went 15th. - golfingsince
I still think Draisaitl was the best pick in that draft. Not knocking Ekblad. |

The two picks I suggested were 7 and 20, so dropping two spots and giving up a bit more to grab a 2nd 1st round pick.
Dropping down to 14 suggested giving up 7 and also acquiring another 1st 29/30. That makes 3 1sts. I'll take the 3 1sts over Tkachuk/Dubois, as I would most years. If it's the 3rd overall we have that deal doesn't work for me. |

Isn't Dubois' experience at C pretty limited? I still like the pick, but he probably won't be filling Henrik's skates. - CubanBuffet
Did anyone expect Monahan to come in and play top line? My point being is we dont know how hell turn out he could suprise many people, but saying it will happen |

He's a good pick.
If I redrafted right now i'd pick him 2nd, right behind Ekblad. |

He was on the radio w Pratt and he said a forward makes the most sense at 5. He said he will replace Mccann with our 5th pick. Literally every interview he has done since the lottery indicates he has a D at 6 and forwards top 5. Maybe he is lying...I highly doubt it - CanuckDon
He could be saying D, in order to prevent EDM from trading down to 7 or 8 hoping theirs is still avail. Not likely, but you never know. |

I don't see a rebuild team like Yotes giving up a second first round pick to move up two spots. |

That's why I suggest we'd have to add.
Tkachuck, like Matthews is an AZ kid. ( How crazy is that, two potential top 5 picks from Arizona)
Also, dad played there. Let's not forget that's a team that has to sell tickets.
It's a fantasy scenario for a boring day in May. |

No, what you implied ( once again) is that you knew more about coaching then other posters.(me) That's why you were dragged into it in the first place. If you don't want to get laughed at, then maybe tone down the attitude. - golfingsince
I wasnt even here when you dragged my name into it....Ive done nothing to deserve getting dragged into it.
You laugh at stuff you dont understand is why. You deny its reality...insinuating you know all already ....THAT is arrogant right there. Is there nothing you dont already know? Please.
Im sure (like each and every person) you know about other things I and others dont....who cares if I know something you dont? We are all different with different knowledge bases.
Dont drag me into stuff. that was lame dude. |

Please elaborate on your coaching background.
It will help us understand what you understand that we don't understand.
Also, lame is bragging on the internet about banging broads. |

Personally, I don't think it's that simple.
Whereas I do think Sutter is the best player in the deal, cap hit has to be a factor. That, IMO is the only part that hurts. |
