I still much prefer Sutter over bones.

But

The guy is totally clutch, like omfg he's totally the mvp. We should trade Horvat plus or first fir him, the opportunity to pick up a clutch goal scoreboard first line center never comes along. Imagine how many goals Hanson would score along side this stone cold assassin

I skimmed it, but yes its ridiculous. It happens every year though, I remember the love Lapierre and Higgins were getting in 2011, I even think Torres got it in the playoffs once too. Guys get hot at the right time and they become the story for the media, some keep it up like a Saad and others turn it into a regrettable contract like Bickell

I'm not being arrogant, let me explain it to you. Some people are smarter than others in different subjects, stop me if you've heard this, so as you see I'm not being arrogant I'm just smarter than you on this subject, just like we accept your superior knowledge when it comes to coaching and Vantels Superior scouting background, will have to bow to my superior knowledge on this subject. See it's not arrogance on my part I'm just smarter than you on this subject.

Got it or do you want me to explain it to you again?

hype.

good for Bonino, I guess we had to get past the first round to see his heroics.

I had read on CanuckArmy or another site that Higgins was a playoff performer, elevated his game in the post season, can't recall ever seeing this outstanding play for any signifiicant duration...

I can see Bonino getting a big contract and being miscast as a top 6 C this offseason. There were some surprisingly reasonable deals given out last year, but I think that wont apply to Bonino, probably $4m+ next season for someone like AZ, CAR, or NJ

EDIT: and by miscast, I mean expected to put up something like 60 points

Bonino is still under contract for 1.9 next year.

It sure must help Bonino playing with Kessel and Hagelin. Put him on a lesser team/line with less skill and see him lose his new found super powers.

I think Sutter as a 3c will always get his points and be defensively responsible. Sutter has good speed, when he played with the Sedins, he would be first below the goal line on a dump in and first forward back.

Bonino's goal was less impressive than Paul Martin's positioning and Kris Letang's pass.

Ah never mind then. Those postgame questions about his future and stuff gave me the impression he was UFA this summer

I thought Bonino was okay when he was here, just wasn't a good skater.

He is apparently going to the right spots to score his goals, good for him.

It didn't work out in Vancouver for Bonino, good for him it is working out in Pittsburgh.

I think he is a fringe 3rd line center playing with 2 very highly skilled and very fast skaters. Kessel, regardless of what people say, is an elite player. Hagelin is tenacious and insanely fast. Those two players excel in the areas that Bonino lacks which is the best case scenario for him. I am glad he is doing well and hope him well in the future, but I agree, I don't think Bonino had the proper support on his lines in VAN like he does now.

And Bonino excels in areas that Kessel lacks, like back checking and being responsible defensively. They compliment each other well.

I would agree. There is a reason that line is having the most success in the playoffs.

exactly the point. he's found a good fit and is riding a hot streak. he's a good player that wasn't the right fit here. that doesn't make him a bad player just like his hot streak now doesn't make it a bad trade.

let's try to avoid the angry ex attitude on this forum. it's a bad look.

Bonnino just needs to stand in front of the net and swat in easy goals...his wingers have speed to burn and set him up for tap ins. I spoke to Igor early today and he said Kessel thinks Taylor Pyatt could score more as his center than Boninno

It's the media, trying to push the idea that any former Canuck player traded by JB that does well on their new team means JB made a bad trade.

baldness is contagious. it's a good idea to get rid of the contagion. benning doesn't have a full head of hair by accident!
