Do you remember the Rhinoceros Party? They proposed bulldozing the Rockies as a way to promote national unity. Maybe we need the same thing for HB - a Canucks/Leafs (probably Leafs/Canucks now that I think about it) national unity thread. This would be a safe place where we can come together to share best practices on rebuilding, learn about how to grab broads from New Westminister, talk about our mutual dislike of Jim Hughson (pro-Canuck and pro-Leaf at the same time) and generally make fun of the Oilers.

I'm prepared to commit my time and energy to make this real. I will stay here and invite all my Leafy friends until Ek agrees to create a joint thread.

You're welcome.

That's why we need a joint forum. We need to talk these issues out. It's tearing you up inside.

See how easy it is to find things to unite us. I can even compliment BC on the quality of your locally grown pot. It's the only thing that explains Vantel's posts.

Even with our divional rival being in the cup finals, Im still pulling for the Sharks. I dont know why.

I think perhaps its that the thought of Phil Kessel lifting the cup scares the crap out of me.

re: Brouwer.

seems like a classic case of buying high.
He's durable, scores goals and hits.
Perfect, let's sign him and watch him get a 'fluke' injury that sidelines him for the majority of the season...kinda like Sutter.

I'd like him on the team still in a 2nd/3rd line role...replace Hansen who we trade for a high 2nd rounder.
Asset management ya'll.

I think I am pulling for them because aside from Pierre Lebrun, the media rarely talks about the Sharks (except for Chewbacca/Beard comments) and its a little refreshing. They have a good team, passionate fanbase and they play an entertaining style of hockey, I hope these old guys like Thornton and Marleau who have waited forever finally get this.

If Pittsburgh wins, it will be a whole lot about Crosby's legacy for the next few years, mixed in with "How did the Leafs let Phil get away?", etc. It will be more nauseating than McDavid/Oilers and Matthews/Leafs combined (and I actually like Crosby)

I can't decide at the moment. I don't mind the Sharks but I'm still pissed off about the Bieksa trade

Much the same. Rooting for the Sharks, though I'm more looking for a good series. Those people you see your team do battle with, you like to think they matched up against the best.

And would it be because you'd be afraid he'd fattily drop it, or he'd spend a day eating pudding out of it on his couch? (To be fair, I'm happy he's sort of hushed his critics this year... he's doing what he does well.)

I'm 100% on team Sharks. Love that team. Martin Jones in net is the kicker. We never really had a rivalry full of hatred with them.

Crosby is a whiny female dog, I don't want him winning.

Them being written off from even making the playoffs also has me cheering for them. I appreciate the underdog side of it

should pay attention to the on ice play and less about the press. Won't have to listen to the female doging then.

My US Rep. is a huge Sharks fan and is surprised I'm cheering for the Sharks because he was cheering against the Canucks when it was our time.

I don't mind the Sharks and then when I find myself taking an interest in their success (don't want to say cheering for them), I think of Thornton by the penalty box sticking his finger in Henrik's face and touching his cheek and think he is a douche... but then I think the Sedins put up with too much cr4p I'm so torn.
