I don't mind the Sharks and then when I find myself taking an interest in their success (don't want to say cheering for them), I think of Thornton by the penalty box sticking his finger in Henrik's face and touching his cheek and think he is a douche... but then I think the Sedins put up with too much cr4p I'm so torn.

If Henrik didn't like it he should of done something about it.

yep. same as when Daniel was getting punched in the face... they play by their code, but nobody else does...

That incident with Thornton and Henrik was just odd to watch, Henrik serious, into the game, talking to the ref, and Thornton, fecking around, wondering what he can get away with, with the ref and Henrik...

I enjoy watching the Canucks play the Cali teams.

should pay attention to the on ice play and less about the press. Won't have to listen to the female doging then.

- manvanfan

I watch him play. For a guy with a concussion history, he goes at people like a cheap bastard... then he gets hit and it's waaaahh waahhh to the refs. I've never liked him. He's actually imo one of the most overrated players in the league.

He was invisible all series except for one game. Even in the Olympics here, he was invisible the whole tournament until overtime against the US where he scored a fluky goal.

Honestly, the way Thornton conducts himself just always makes me laugh. I remember seeing that and wanting to participate in the outrage that he was being an ass or disrespectful, but I just couldnt help but laugh. Probably because I dont think he's a dirty or malicious player, if that was Brown or Marchand I mightve taken the situation differently.

My US Rep. is a huge Sharks fan and is surprised I'm cheering for the Sharks because he was cheering against the Canucks when it was our time.
- A_SteamingLombardi

We had a lot more players that were easy to hate.
Sharks are just so cute and cuddly with those beards.

My buddy played on the sharks a few years ago. He said Thornton is an awesome guy. One of the best he's played with. Like a lovable teddy bear. Likes to party too. He also said Burns is really cool, total stud. I imagine that team is fun to be on. Although he didn't say such nice things about Marleau...

No. I don't think Marner will amount to much. Too small. Most likely a wasted pick. Drouin is golden though.

Right, can't answer a question because it shoots holes through your theory.

I thought Joe was mocking the league more than anything. He is playing dumb and smacking a guy right in front of the refs. What do you mean ? It was an accident, my bad. He showed the NHL what a joke their officiating is.

At the same time he was making a statement to Hank. " I own you, b1tch"

I laughed but was still a bit peeved, I would have found it more funny if I wasn't a Canuck fan. It is almost like laughing at a kid being bullied... but I like seeing some stuff that is somewhat over the line, adding some character to the game.

Do you remember the Rhinoceros Party? They proposed bulldozing the Rockies as a way to promote national unity. Maybe we need the same thing for HB - a Canucks/Leafs (probably Leafs/Canucks now that I think about it) national unity thread. This would be a safe place where we can come together to share best practices on rebuilding, learn about how to grab broads from New Westminister, talk about our mutual dislike of Jim Hughson (pro-Canuck and pro-Leaf at the same time) and generally make fun of the Oilers.

I'm prepared to commit my time and energy to make this real. I will stay here and invite all my Leafy friends until Ek agrees to create a joint thread.

You're welcome.

I see it as Dubois or trade down & target Juolevi or Bean. Sergachev as well.
Much depends on we trade with.
Trading down is for a 1st & a prospect or roster player if say Hansen is moved.
1st up for an indicator is UFA signings. Will be a very interesting roster next year.

I don't know how many posts I have seen on these threads by our own fans complaining about the lack of high end talent this team has , then followed up by let's trade down

If it's Tkachuk the guy is almost a full year older than many of his draft mates. Similar to Matthews except Matthews has played against men.

He also outscored Matthews at the WJC...he is 6 months older than PLD who is one of the youngest players near the top. It's a factor but I don't think it's overly concerning

OMG man, talk about whining. His facial hair is embarrassing, but he is still one of the best players in hockey and has been since he started the league. Just because you don't like him doesn't mean he's not a good player.

Sorry, had to flag you. Your Sutter obsession is very disturbing and you aren't welcome here
- CanuckDon

No need to bring Sutter into this, I dont get the flack he gets, can score 21 goals being a third line Center and mostly penalty kill timing. Hes also great at faceoffs and good defensively. Hansen gets in the 20s playing with the Sedins for half of season and hes praised highely.

Edit:Hansen also has never hit the 40 point mark, if Sutter has a full season top 6 hes going to suprise alot of doubters, worth the 4.5 mill
