it cant be said any better than this of the 5 players you named only sven has shown top 4 or top 6 potential. Where as the players and prospects moved all show much higher and the guys we got could have easily been replaced via free agency without loosing prospect depth - mauryballstein
Lol, yup totally agree.
Jensen and Shinkaruk are can't miss top line talents, redrafted they'd be top 5.
Forsling looks like a legitimate top pairing offensive force. Redrafted he goes first overall.
And the pair of 2nd round draft picks well don't even get me started on their future stardom.

Well that obvious after tonight, some individual (wienerhead) states I've banned him and his entourage, and then locked down the thread, he swallowed that pretty easily.

Bonino would never have been any more than a Yan Bulis. He had no support around him and is unable to drive it himself.
The trade was the best thing for both teams. |

I'm not sure of what i'm trying to ask so i'll just use a scenario. Say with Van's 5th round pick they draft a european player. He comes over and has a heck of a camp, but has a contract over in Sweden (we will say). Does he have to go back to honour his contract?
Does the team buy it out?
If he is out of contract and picked in the CHL import draft, does Van have a choice whether he goes to the CHL or AHL?
and if he goes to the CHL does he have to go there till he's 20 then?
(dumb question) are there different rules for players drafted in different rounds? |

There are only 2 Euros that are NHL ready this year and not under contract so no need to buy them out. |

For those suggesting Tanev for Barrie , Benning already turned down that offer . |

Linden told Sekeres the lead up to the Gudbrandson trade , who and what they talked about. He told them about Benning and Sakic discussing Barrie , but Sakic didn't know if he wanted to package Duchene . Benning didn't want to get caught waiting again for a deal and knew Edmonton and Florida were talking so they went in a different direction and jumped at EG.
It was a bit of a price but they traded someone that they had issues with and would have most likely sent down. This last part is my opinion. The top part is the story Sekeres told the day of the trade.
He said trading for Barrie straight up had to start with Tanev or Hutton. Robbing Peter to pay Paul. |

The "issues" only came from one player, and if that's indeed the case the trade looks good. Barrie would be a great addition, it will be a pucker up for whoever lands him. |

@LordHumungous:
We're a team of misfits and right offs from past skapegoats like Bonino, Kessel, Hagelin, Daley, and Schultz, to the guys people didn't think had anything left in the tank like Cullen, Fehr, and Kunitz, to the Wilkse Barre 5 who no one thought would be contributing NHLers ever. Yet somehow everyone's found a niche here and formed a cohesive group now three wins away from a Stanley Cup.
From the Pens perspective, the Sutter trade was an astronomical success. For us it was a win just by salary cap standards. No way in hell we could afford to retain Sutter for the contract you guys gave him. So we traded him for Bonino, which all things being equal didn't seem like a huge downgrade at 3C at the time and opened up enough space to sign Fehr at a really cheap deal. Even if Bonino sucked for us, we could have just flipped him (at 1.8 mil there will always be takers) and I still would have been fine with the Sutter trade. The pick swap included in the deal and Clendening was icing on the cake.
Then something no one saw coming happened and HBK was born. The Sutter trade in hind sight was one of the most important points of this season. - Victoro311
The bonino deal ended up good for both clubs. I still feel Sutter is by far the better player and a full healthy season should bring that along. Bonino looked like a total bust for you guys until March but I'm happy he is having playoff success with proper linemates. We could not give him that here so he struggled with consistency badly. The Pens just had chemistry development at exactly the right time...which is working out well for you and I hope the Pens take it...can't stand the Sharks. |

Danny Hank and Hansen spoke towards thos same issues last year. This is not just one player complaining.
Keith Doughty Seabrook are great players, Barrie is a good player. |
