McCann will require a 2-3mil deal in 2 years. That is only if they bridge him. Gudbranson will likely go for around 4.5-5mil unless he has an offensively gifted season with us. I am guessing 3-4 years. - Retinalz
Don't know that it will be that much that soon unless he puts up some big numbers. Being a first round pick of another organization tends to lower the price a bit. |

I would hope Sbisa is moved if Hamhuis is back or a UFA dmen signed or dman acquired via trade. unless it was Edler being moved, but I can't really see that happening.
I can't see us having 3 dmen in the pressbox to start the season either. - hillbillydeluxe
Agreed.
I'd ship him to Toronto for Washington's 2nd rounder.
He'd prolly do well there.
Sbisa Sbisa endorsement is too easy. |

I have been droning on a bit regarding the defense and someone needs to be moved or risk losing one on waivers... maybe nobody will pickup Biega if he is sent down. and wondering if JB will go after another dman that can drive the offense?
Edler Tanev
Hutton Gudbranson
Sbisa Tryamkin
Larssen Pedan
Biega - hillbillydeluxe
Gudbranson actually looks more like a replacement for Tanev than the offensive #4 they need. |

Tanev and Hutton as second pairing would work too or are you thinking Tanev could be moved? |

Doubt it, Tanev + for 4OA or Tanev + for Barrie would be the only moves that would make sense. |

Tanev+ for Barrie sounds interesting.
I guess Tanev or another dman being moved for a forward who could score doesn't sound far fetched either.

On paper it deals with the issues, and gets us a young local PPQ. Problem is you have to overpay.....
nevermind |

Roy wants a big Dman and Sakic wants to package Barrie and Duchene together |

I don't think they will have any problems getting Biega through waivers, he did a good job and seems like a good guy but Even if he is picked up it won't be the end of the world. It would suck losing Pedan but if he can't make it as the 8th D at this point does it matter if we lose him?
What's the waiver status of Stecher would he be eligible?

I would think a Barrie/Duchene package could get them almost any D in the league.

Edit. Nvm, didn't realize Stecher was only 22 he gets 3 years or 70 games of exception.

Stretcher is fine for two years. I hope they hang on to Pedan. I know he has underwhelmed but he is so damn toolsy |

Both are stay at home RHD who are great on the number one penalty killing unit. What they need most is a more offensive guy who can quarterback the first unit powerplay. Gudbranson appears to make Tanev expendable. |

Sure continue but the leafs never traded 2nd rounders for any of them.. picked them all up as free agents/waivers so kinda different |

Santorelli Grabner
Leafs did offer a package that included a second for Luongo but he refused to waive his NTC |

Yeah but Loungo isn't a bad player so not really proving a point.. can't see Leafs being interested in Sbisa at all.. they have enough 5/6 dmen as it is.. |
