I mean, it depends on your definition of a tire fire. They're a right mess and currently have a MUCH uglier looking future, but until the Oilers pull out of the league dumpster no one can be called a greater tire fire than us. Out of the playoffs for 10 years, 4 of 6 1st overall picks, and a consistent failure to develop and keep good players.
If you mean tire fire in the sense that their roster simply looks like a mess, then I can agree. |

Both rosters are a tire fire... but at least our assets are of much greater value than Vancouver's. |

You can't ignore the organizational failures though simply because the roster is better. The Oilers of the last 10 years are arguably the biggest tire fire in the history of the league. |

The oilers are without a doubt the worst franchise over the last decade
I wasn't even trashing the nucks really even if I do think it was terrible trade.
I was merely trashing whatshisnames strange ideas regarding the oilers needs and trade values |

Not arguing that. Just saying that we as Oilers fans can't justify calling any other organization a bigger tire fire than our own until this team can get out of the gutter for a few years. Considering how often people in here use the line "a Leafs fan calling the Oilers pathetic is laughable", you'd think we'd see the irony in making any sort of claim like that. |

There's been far worse teams in one and two year stretches Than the oilers have been at their worst. But I'd be shocked to find a worse 6 year consecutive streak in the leagues history.

Just because K-Lowe, Tambellini and Crack-T drove this team into the ground during the past ten years doesn't mean we can't call the Canucks a tire fire.
The Leafs have direction and some good things going on. The Canucks are going to be the Oilers of the next ten years. |

Ottawa Senators and San Jose Sharks of the early '90s come to mind. |

And I'm not saying you can't call them that. I'm saying there's no ground for the argument that the Canucks are even close to a bigger tire fire than our team. I hope we can turn it around this coming season, but I'll believe it and talk like it when it happens. |

The Buffalo Sabres of the last two years. Historically inept offensively |

Even they don't quite touch those other two, though. |

Sorry but agree to disagree, Oilers are a team that I do follow and support but they (management) are terrified of making a "bad" trade so they are stuck with what should be a roster of elite talent who amount to poop because they have no leaders yet. Mcdavid will change it but you need some depth to protect the young guys (who aren't so young anymore, some of them anyways) |

The Canucks have no succession plan to Hank and Dank... none at all.
The Sedins, Burrows, Higgins, and Vrbata are all either gone now or gone very soon. The only significant prospects coming up to replace them are Horvat, Virtanen and Dubois/Tkachuk.
The goaltending is just plain scary.
