Where I live the only quality sausage is chorizo, hard to joke on as they are so greasy they just slide right on down!

I prob wouldn't even bother with 3) and if I did I prob would take a top D over Brown.
I'd rather have Barrie over Vatanen but I think scoring Demers as the 2nd pairing RHD would be gold. - RonPielep
My opinion is that Fabro and mcavoy are the two best D options for Edmonton.
Edit: for what it's worth in the draft years both in the BCHL
Fabbro had 67 points in 45 games
And Schultz had 40 points in 56 games |

Ever consider (frank)ing off? - Jeropotato
My goal was not to offend such a good citizen such as yourself here on Hockeybuzz. I was just trying to help. I know you have gone years without a big D in your rear end and you are longing to get some big strapping jock back there to pair up with Nurse to tag team whomever might enter your zone!
I apologise if you have taken my posts the wrong way! |

I'm starting to like you. You're my fifth favourite Flames poster right after Whipper, Kablooey,Douglas Fir and the Finkler - Jeropotato
That guy(s) is the stuff of legends! You are alright yourself. I mean, your no Macho Man or whats his name who had the Ru Paul Avi, but your tolerable! |

Yes the adding of Vatanen and Demers would certainly help.
I think more will have to be done to make this club competitive however. I'd like to see another quality defender brought in (Spurgeon, Brodin, Trouba) and I don't think that gets done without dealing the 4th and probably Eberle.
I'm probably gonna catch a lot of flak for this, but at this point I'd rather keep Pouliot over Eberle as well. Eberle is certainly the better scorer but I think Pouliot is the better 2 way winger. - Wildschwein
I see no world where we should acquire more than Vatanen and Demers- two top-4 Dmen. Not only would we be crippling our cap and gutting our forwards, but with the expansion draft coming up, we'd be looking at leaving some serious talent unprotected. No sense acquiring more than two guys like that this offseason.

Really? We need another Left Handed D man? (frank) that.
RNH has value, that's why we need to package him and a 4th for a legit top pairing Righty D man. - Jeropotato
Everyone is so hung up with what hand a winger or dman shoot. I understand that you want to pull the draw to the shooting hand or you want him to have his still along the boards but realistically at what point does having a top dman out weigh whether our second best shoots the same hand? We need a number 1 guy period. If he shoots left that is better than grabbing more 3-4 guys like Sekeras. Besides the Oil often use 1 d on the PP anyways. Be nice to have a guy that can QB it. Especially if all he costs us is cap space to get.

When I look at the teams current specific organizational need (top 2/4 RHD) I don't think about addressing that in the draft. It needs to be addressed much sooner. But if I'm the oil and picking 7-12 I'm probably taking the BPA/most opportunistic player for the Oil which would likely be one of the top 3 D (Chych, Juo or Serg).
Although I agree, if the Oil drop to the 12-20 range then McAvoy, Bean and Fabbri should all be on their list. |

I couldn't agree more. This draft is actually quite good for the top 7 or so teams (if someone picks the defenseman that turns out best as there is no real consensus top pick). Mattews is top for a reason but Laine doesn't has shown the gap between him and second is negligible. Puljujavi is going to be a great player. However I am not sure how to compare them with Tkachuk who dominated on the Knights the way Domi did on the same line last year. Then round that out with Dubois and Nylander.
If there is value in trading down of course Oilers have probably have thought about what D they would take but I don't see it happening if they stay in the top 5-6.

I'm not sure Yandle is better than Sekeras even. |
