I'm kinda confused about wtf you are on about. You seem to have made an assumption about 'my team' and failed big time.
I've never heard of Druce or Kontos until now. |

Ah ok darling.....they are 2 players who sucked big time but both had unreal playoff runs in the '80's but were still average to below-average NHLers....
The point being that even crappy NHLers can get hot in the playoffs just like our little princess Nick Bonino.....

at the risk of getting off course on the Bonino bashing/defending, do you think the canucks being locked in on dubois harkened the mccann trade? i dunno if we had room for horvat and mccann to develop properly ... glad horvat was the one that stayed.
for the record, Bonino really did look slow here. i think pitts just figured out a way to use him better ... surround him with wheels ... who knew? we didn't really have anyone established like that. |

Why so you can ignore the argument at hand and focus on irrelevant bullpoop about an irrelevant franchise?
In that case the Nucks are my team... do your worst. |

He is actually not very far down the Pens list of potential CS choices (according to people in the Pens thread during WSH series).
Just because you could only trade him for "a potential first line center in Sutter" doesn't mean all of you Nucks fans need to look at his playoff success with a chip on your shoulder like it is somehow going to make that trade any less of win for the Pens.
- RonPielep
Most of us are pleased with the Sutter trade and nobody cares what Bonino is doing. Good for him. He wasn't very effective here and wasn't a good fit so the org moved on. So grow up or leave the thread |

Assuming Oil are picking Tkachuk instead of Dubois (or whoever they trade their pick to)? I don't think that's necessarily a given at this point. |

Yeah god forbid anyone accepts the possibility that Benning might have made an unfavorable trade. Jeeze I should really grow up for thinking that way... |

Benning loses trades, all GM's lose trades. Fans don't miss Bonino in the slightest. We just find it amusing that he is receiving over the top accolades from some of the media. How many trades has your GM lost? |

I think it is a pretty reasonable assumption based off of Tkachuks great memorial cup and playoffs that Dubois will be available at 5.
There is no such thing as not enough room for prospects to develop properly. |

i read something from friedman about memorial cup saying tkachuk moved his way into the top 3 and nobody from the previous top 3 would make it past four ... that's my basis for it anyway. |

If anonymity is me not worshipping one particular franchise for the rest of my life then yes I am very anonymous.
Truth is I don't claim to be a lifer of any team. I just follow my natural interest in various organizations depending on their current state of affairs and personnel. Typically I follow rebuilding teams more often because I am generally most interested in prospects.
A few years back I probably would have just said Habs but at this point that would be disingenuous of me because I don't follow them like they are my favorite team anymore. I follow the Oiler's most these days but I'm starting to get caught up in some Leafs hype recently. I still follow the Habs quite a bit and I've always kinda followed the Nucks since the Naslund/Bert days.
But yeah, right now, go Sharks, Burns and Pavelski are probably my two favorites in the playoffs still and I wanna see Thornton win a cup. |

, you mean Kessel right? hehe, had to laugh.
Bones was a good set up man. Too bad we didn't have him and Kesler here at the same time.
What Pits did is supply him with player that gave him space and a guy with hands that could finish. Kessel is that guy.

benning seems to be a quality over quantity guy. i think it either pays off or ends up looking really really bad over time .. especially with the draft picks cause who know who those could be now. i don't think there's gonna be much middle ground when his job is over and assessed. jensen, shinkaruk, etc ... he's made his decision on his ideal lineup, they don't fit and they're out.

You havent been around here much in the last two years. Literally every trade, no matter how small, has been seen as unfavorable by the majority. Even today, the best deal anyone can think of is Sven for a 2nd rounder and some still dont like it. The majority of the defense given is that the trades arent as bad as these Chicken Little's are claiming it to be |

Fair enough. I kinda doubt GMs are going to put that much stock into one tourney but I think it was pretty close beforehand so maybe that's just slightly enough to put Tkachuk over the top.
I think come draft day whoever gets picked at #4 is going to depends mostly on the team/GM who is doing the picking. Still think it's close between Dubois and Tkachuk. |
