I'm not twisting anything. If you need to see an example of people grasping at straws to make that trade look like a win right now look no further than my location.

The second statement is a direct response to such blatantly biased and homeristic perceptions (although admittedly and mistakenly I over-generalized and should have been more careful about my word choice).

What's wrong with provoking a discussion about fan bias and perception? That's entirely different than blatant trolling.

It's not like a just flat out started calling people names like wienerhead or something... That would be inappropriate.

I see you've been around for a couple of years, not sure about past alts, but if you take hankthetank or scooby/dshiddy posts as "you canuck fans" to quote and generalize as the entire fan base...well I'm not sure what to think now. Especially when you know they are nonsense and satirical 90% of the time.

You twisted things because just like today 9 out of 10 posters all say the same thing, Bonino didn't fit here, Sutter did, good on Bonino for his success, but hey hankthetank says something else.

And this is the last from me, I said your second comment was being wienerhead, go back and look.

That's enough for me, from now on "I'll be ban happy" as Jeropotato accused me of.

I apologize for bringing up Bonino and destroying the spirit of this thread

Sorry, thought you were calling me an internet tough guy

so by not choosing a team, you have deeply seeded commitment issues or something?

maybe it is just me, but when I see a poster without team affiliation that is new or doesn't post in this thread often and they only post to criticize the Canucks or a Canuck poster, it usually means that guy is a troll.

you know the saying, don't throw stones if you live in a glass house? guys without team affiliations don't live in houses and usually have plenty of rocks.

While I probably do have commitment issues I don't think that's what my not having a team is about. I just tend to follow players more-so than logos and franchises. I like watching exciting hockey players, I could give two-(frank)s about an arbitrary logo. Maybe when I'm older and I live somewhere in a permanent fashion that will change. But I've never been big into the 'home-team' idea, although I always take interest to some degree, I just find it more interesting to play devil's advocate to people who let their team affiliations get the best of their rational thought.

I was in here like 3 days ago arguing with 3 or 4 of them. I figured they'd know who they are and the others would know who I was talking about.

My wienerhead comment wasn't referring to you, it was referring to the guy who posted after you.

You forgot the 2010 third overall pick.
- VANTEL

My bad, totally forgot. We should be able to get an elite player with that pick

So it appears Connor Beackley will re-enter the draft and Arizona gets 53OA as compensation.

Playing the devil's advocate isn't all that different from trolling.

more opinions are presented as fact on here than just about any site on the internet. and you can take that to a bank.

maybe it is some hang up with me, but when I see a poster without a team affiliation, it is like they don't have any skin in the game, they haven't put themselves out there and are usually posting just to criticize. this is just what I have experienced.

Congratulations!!!
You've taken passive/aggressive trolling to a whole new level!
After reading all of your posts thus far, I have come to the conclusion that you are quite pompous.

Like I said, my team affiliation is pretty transient, when I first joined HB I was mostly a Habs fan and I had them as my team. After a few months I removed it for a couple reasons:

i) I started following the Oil more and more and they were already a pretty close 2nd then.

ii) Whenever I tried to have any kind of real conversation with fans of other teams they would fall back on "blah blah blah Habs this Habs that" which does nothing to contribute to intelligent conversation or progress the dialogue at hand (not to mention I could give a (frank) about someone chirping either the Oil or the Habs).

The second point is fairly obvious from this thread. People are incapable of defending themselves in the subject at hand so instead they try to find something irrelevant to bash you about...

But yes, if you want to be one of those people you can take one of a million possible cheap shots at the Oilers now. It's like shooting fish in a barrel. Or the Habs, your choice.

The problem with that poop is it just degrades into nonsense about who has the best W/L record over some arbitrarily selected timeline or who has the most cups or blah blah blah and I'm kinda trying to move beyond those grade 4 levels of dialogue.
