So it appears Connor Beackley will re-enter the draft and Arizona gets 53OA as compensation. - Retinalz
I think this is a smart move on their part. If there is a 25% chance a 2nd turns into an NHL regular I think that is probably more than the chance Bleackley has. |

Brouwer will be on the 1040 at 3.30 . Two interviews in one week - VANTEL
I don't like it.. He's gonna get overpaid by somebody for his playoff performances that we won't need.. I would rather pay eriksson or lucic at that point.. He's 2/3rd liner guy that'll get paid higher |

You're right but it has made for good debate. Even though we are the ones who are right about the Guddy trade. |

Like I said, my team affiliation is pretty transient, when I first joined HB I was mostly a Habs fan and I had them as my team. After a few months I removed it for a couple reasons:
i) I started following the Oil more and more and they were already a pretty close 2nd then.
ii) Whenever I tried to have any kind of real conversation with fans of other teams they would fall back on "blah blah blah Habs this Habs that" which does nothing to contribute to intelligent conversation or progress the dialogue at hand (not to mention I could give a (frank) about someone chirping either the Oil or the Habs).
The second point is fairly obvious from this thread. People are incapable of defending themselves in the subject at hand so instead they try to find something irrelevant to bash you about...
But yes, if you want to be one of those people you can take one of a million possible cheap shots at the Oilers now. It's like shooting fish in a barrel. Or the Habs, your choice.
The problem with that poop is it just degrades into nonsense about who has the best W/L record over some arbitrarily selected timeline or who has the most cups or blah blah blah and I'm kinda trying to move beyond those grade 4 levels of dialogue. - RonPielep
okay, I will leave you alone after this post with these thoughts,
If you commonly receive the same reaction from your posts, regardless on which team's threads you are posting on, you may want to change your approach/delivery.
when you say you want to have real conversations, starting off with having a different opinion or calling out their sh!t, justified or not, might not be the best approach. even within the Canucks threads, between Canuck posters can get pretty heated when they have a difference of opinion.
Maybe it is just the nature of the site, when someone is critical of a team, others look and see who their team is and beak about their shortfalls.
everyone looks for little victories or big wins. and if they aren't winning themselves, they want others to also lose or point out their situation isn't perfect.
the high road is a lonely road, and it is often more fun to sling the mud, poke and get a reaction. if you want to get the reaction in a Canucks thread, and stir it up, you will have a longer leash when you are affiliated with the Canucks.

Sounds like Brouwer is just playing the game. Putting his face out there, saying he'd love to play here... in how many other markets will he be heard on the radio?
I wouldn't mind him here for the right cap hit/term, and I think the same for McGinn, Lucic and Eriksson. |

I cleaned the kitchen, started a batch of home made bread, hung a door, paid some bills, and joked around with the UPS guy.
Edit: Oh yeah, and got high. |

I feel tentative too.
i'd take him as a Burrows replacement and lucic/erikson as a vrbata replacement. |

B1. I don't. Some threads tend to be more sensitive than others. I made a generalization and clarified it like 4 posts later (when I said all you Nucks fans I meant it as "all of you Nucks fans guilty of doing what I'm talking about", they know who they are, NOT all Nucks fans on this site). That's it.
B2. I did have a real conversation about JB with WhiteLie.
B3. It's not just this site. It's childish people everywhere looking for a straw man in order to avoid having to use brain cells to defend the topic at hand. |

You really come across as a 15 year old with too much time on their hands. You jump ship on what team you cheer for every couple years and spend time chirping all teams on various blogs in your spare time. You may need another hobby |
