No, it's a case of NHL teams routinely undervalue players like him. The Leafs picked up a similar player from the Oilers - who have garbage defense and could have used him - in Martin Marincin. That's just a single example, but players who don't score and hit a ton get underrated. Maybe Buffalo knows this and wants to keep him, but he still makes an intriguing target. - James_Tanner
ok. no issue there.
still don't think you get him cheap. makes no sense for buffalo to give him away. none at all.
He cant skate anymore James, his body is wearing down. He cant stay onside when he is lined up with faster line mates, he really is just a corpse on the ice. He was awesome but hes not even close to the same guy he was 1-2 years ago. It would be a huge mistake to resign him taking up cap space and a roster space from a younger player, I hope he retires so he doesn't embarrass himself getting steam rolled and being forced to be healthy scratches over and over again.
Hes not a top 9 player anymore, and if he cant be that, why would you even put him on your roster - DDM-Coga
You are too biased. I watched almost every game he played in Arizona and he was really good. He is slow, but like Thornton, he's just really smart.
The Coyotes need a couple old guys and Tanguay can teach guys how to play the right way while providing decent 3rd line minutes.
Stats don't lie - he's still got something in the tank.
America is only stupid for calling "hockey" "ice hockey". Hockey is hockey. There are other types of hockey and they deserve to be called "field hockey" or "ball hockey" or "roller hockey" or whatever.
But hockey played on ice is HOCKEY! You don't have to label it "Ice Hockey". By definition, hockey is played on ice.

Oh so your review of him for 18 games trumps actually seeing him play 192 games for the Avs over the last 3 years. Right that small sample size really defines he is as a player.

"Deck" hockey is an American invention. It's hockey in sneakers, running, not skating.

deck hockey name kills me....such a hipster word created 25 or so years ago....it is street hockey, that's it. nothing more. Also played with a ball. - rinaldo
Pretty fun though. Especially in an area with a limited amount of rinks as a kid.
quotes no working - because somebody messed up the thread with a stupid GIF.
@ Tanner. You are right about player safety. There should easily be way more suspensions for dangerous plays. And when an NHL millionaire gets a $5000 fine it is ridiculous. That's like charging me a nickel for "assault causing bodily harm". A nickel means nothing to me the same way $5000 means nothing to a multi-millionaire.
The loser point... I can't stand hearing this argument. It is designed to keep teams in the playoff hunt for longer - or at least give the appearance to fans that their teams are in the playoff hunt longer. It works. I mean think about baseball there are teams who have zero chance at playoffs by the end of June. So they play 100+ completely irrelevant games. That's not good for business.
It would be weird to have 31 teams, but we already have a 16 team conference and a 14 team conference. If it makes business sense to add the inevitable two expansion teams in separate years I don't see why that is a problem. From a fans perspective - I want them to add both. TODAY!
