Yep, many of us started in the north somewhere. I had a great 18 months in Yellowknife , lots of "trips" to the Gallery, Explorer , the Strange Range which was in the YZF Inn I believe. They were very wild times! - HawkfaninBC
For a place as far north, small and isolated as we are it's a pretty fun city, lots of drinking and partying. |

A lot of Oilers fans were upset when he left and his game has apparently grown a lot as well. Oilers tried to bring him back and he said he wouldn't play in Edmonton. I think he could surprise. And not in a Vey sort of way - CanuckDon
(frank) we do think a like. |

who is saying he is disappointing? Are you the Chairman of The Subbans Feelings Society? He is a small guy and it's going to take time - CanuckDon
I could care less about his feelings, but you are making my point.
I was around for the feelings joke and understand it is a joke but like Dragon said a little earlier that he thought Green had said many negative things to say about him, which hasn't been true, but that perception at least here exists.
Many on this board for whatever reason have really downplayed his success. |

Actually on the subject, I don't know how long ago you were here but I guess there used to be a Pub down in Oldtown that brewed their own beer. It was shut down for the longest time but the building was recently purchased and reopened by a couple and they've hired a ton of young people to work there. It's so popular it's getting national attention as one of the most interesting bars in Canada. |

There was a place called Thorntons when I was there, that had some of the best food I've ever had. Amazing wine list as well.
Hilariously it was sandwiched between the bowling alley and the indoor shooting range.

Supporting your notion that Larssen was acquired to be on the roster and they would likely give him a similar leash, needed or not |

Sounds great! I was there a long time ago (1979) , went back in 1983 for an airline party we called "Flight Night" but haven't been back since. I still have a couple of friends that I worked with whom are still living there. |

I love hearing stuff like that. I think a lot of canadians are surprised by things like the restaurants, events, etc. We are in part a tourism city, but like 90% of the tourists are coming from Japan to see the northern lights. |

Ya that was wild when I heard that Japanese people think that it is good luck to conceive under the northern lights. Really good for tourism though like you said.

I follow the Comets just like you do. He was routinely getting beat to the outside and muscled off the puck. You have heard the critisms from Utica fans and coaches so I'm not sure why you only focus on the positives.
He had a solid rookie season but you aren't being objective of you think he makes the team next season |

I've heard legends of some pretty amazing parties had on the runways and around that area. Between stuff like that, the midnight golf tourney every year, and Folk on the Rocks(music festival) I think people get their moneys worth if they decide to come work here. |

I won't get on a yeh or nay about Vey. It is hard to shine when you have wingers like Higgins and Prust and not Hagelin and Kessel. |

Downplay his success? It is hard to have a boner over a prospect when his coach says there are issues, the main club coach says there are issues and the GM says there are still issues.
What are we suppose to think? |

I don't know how many bullets I have left in the chamber but damn it if those young Japanese girls are willing I will give it a try. |

I don't think he will make the team next year and if he does it will have to be a Hutton like surprise.

Can you name a prospect that doesn't have issues?
Hell you have had a boner for Stewart and yet the guy got cut from the ECHL team.

Good news for the Lucic haters:
As @Real_ESPNLeBrun just reported on Insider Trading, Lucic very open to signing in EDM if things don't work out in LA, and deal is right. |

You think Stewart is trying to compete for a hockey position? He is a face puncher. I like his face punching skills. That is why I liked him. This team was a bunch of cream puffs. He would have been hired to fight no one expected him to win the Hart trophy. No one ever said he was more than a fighter. Canucks have a fighter now so his chances of making the team just diminished a whole lot.
That still doesn't make Subban more ready. So I am not sure what your point is, other than trying to make it like I can't assess talent. |
