He was one of the greatest humans on earth, he was destined for greatestness, he touched a lot of lives. Boxing was but a metaphor to express his passion for life and all human beings. - LeftCoaster

This is a joke right? This has to be a (frank)in joke.....where's the respect for Tanev or Hansen for that matter......it's one or the other not both plus for trouba.....seriously, some glue sniffing going on in here....
Top pairing my ass.....maybe top 4 but top pairing is far from accurate at this point..... - chompsey

Not an easy guy to explain w/out having lived through 60's and early 70's. He was hated long before he was loved. This is a long read but gives a good idea of who he was and why the world reacted to him.

A wise man who understood the power of his fame and his responsibility to humanity.
He had a greatness that Jordan, Gretzky, Kobe, Jeter, Mayweather will never know. He understood that economics shouldn't over rule your humanity. Sacrificing money for ideals and comfort for suffering in the service of humanity is well worth it.
You don't have to agree with everything he stood for but everyone should respect the fact that he was a principled gentleman who wanted to affect good in the world. Sadly more people would rather sacrifice principles to affect good in their bank account.

. He also was one of the first "stars" to give philanthropic generously in the millions without seeking out attention for it.

Muhammad Ali was a deeply flawed man but he was inspiring. What some say is a simple question he gives a 10 minute answer. Life isn't simple. Life isn't easy.

He was called a coward before a hero
He was called a traitor before a legend.
He was hated before he was loved.
I cant explain why but I was never a boxing fan but I never missed one of his fights. I was around seven years old listening in bed on the radio to some loud mouth called
Clay.
The public hated him and his poetry. They hated when he changed religions and his name. They called him a coward who was afraid to die in war instead of seeing his peace for the world.
It was when he linked up with Cossell that both became epic.Ali rallied the continent of Africa as their own hero.
When the hostage taking of Iran was in full swing Ali was allowed in to talk to world leaders.
His epic battles and his being different grew him into one of the most known faces and names on the planet.
I cant explain why but I was a seven year old kid that wasn't a boxing fan , but I was a lifetime Ali fan.

Couldn't agree more, an incredible talent, very entertaining and a one of a kind man.
