Rodin and Larsen have a much higher chance of making the team than Subban and Gaunce

Rodin = 80% Larsen = 60%
Subban = 0% Gaunce = 50%

In my opinion

- CanuckDon

Do you not think Subban and Larsen are competing for the same role? What if Subban has a significantly better camp than Larsen?

I was just wondering if Green gets an NHL job does Baumgartner get a shot at head coach?
- thundachunk

He should. I've heard he has done a great job there.

I wonder what JB and linden think the chances are green gets taken. It makes you wonder if they contingency plan if he does or know some inside info that make then either not worry he's safe, or not care cause they have another plan in mind.

This makes me curious. I've only ever been to Rogers arena and no other NHL facilities, how do you guys rate it against others you've been to? Too expensive obviously but in terms of the experience itself?
- NorthNuck

Rogers is good for site lines. not a bad seat in the house. But that creates a situation where you can't lean against the rail because you block the view of the person behind you. I've only seen it a few times where a person was told to lean back.

Otherwise, standard atmosphere during regular season. Great in the playoffs.

First NHL game i went to was in Rogers in 2014, row 4 of the upper section I think, we were right near one of the exits and we were told to lean back once or twice

0% for subban. Green had a lot of negatives on subban.
Rodin is too talented to not have here, he will be given every chance.
Larson is a slotted in player who would have to flop in camp to not make it as an extra cog.

I think management will be more patient with the guys that will require waivers- Pedan, Larssen, (Biega they will likely risk) than those who don't- Gaunce, Suban...

The idea of having a great preseason and making the team out of training camp sounds great but, unless it is a situation like Hutton last season where he really stood out and looked like he belonged, I am thinking they don't want a FC situation this season.

Are all first line centers in the NHL as dynamic offensively as Henrik?
Is Toews, Bergeron, etc actually 2nd liners? I think that Horvat has a ceiling in the range of Toews, not saying he'll make it but 40 points as a21 year old is pretty effective especially for a2 way center

- Pres.cup

I agree, a 40 point season for a 21 year old was very impressive but the comparison was made between Horvat's 2nd season at 40 and that Henrik didn't get one until his 3rd or 4th.

Can Horvat become a top line C in the mold of Toews or Bergeron? yes it is possible, but at this point as impressive as Horvat has been his first two seasons, they are nothing like Toews or Bergeron's.

Horvat 150 GP 29 G 65 pts.
Toews 146 GP 58 G 113pts
Bergeron 152 47 G 112pts.

I've seen games in LA, Anh, SJ, Cal, MTL and Van.

The best experience by far was during playoff games at GM place/Rogers but if I were to rank regular season experience without considering costs.

SJ
MTL

Cal
Van

LA
Anh

I have been to games in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton (season tickets) ,Winnipeg, Toronto ,Montreal, Chicago , Anaheim , San Jose and New York(MSG). One thing that I have noticed is the arenas in the US seem to have way more washrooms and facilities for food, at the Stanley Cup final in Chicago in 2010 , 21,000 fans and no wait in between periods for either. Playoff atmosphere in Chicago, Edmonton(2006),Vancouver(2011) and Anaheim in 2015 were all fantastic. My favourites are Chicago (sightly biased) and San Jose.

IMO fans at Rogers are over critical because you can't help but to see all the mistakes. You can't miss it. More so in the upper bowl. Xs and Os.

I actually think it is closer to 95% chance that the Canucks start the season with both Rodin and Larsen on the roster.

Subban has a bit of a chance as Hutton did last year but pretty slim.

I'm suprised to hear the number of people say San Jose. Might have to go watch one there someday. I've always had the perception that fans of the Cali teams are mean when it comes to visiting spectators, is that true or did I make it up in my head?

Green has had both positive and negative comments about Subban. I don't understand where all the negativity of Subban comes?

He is a prospect who has continued to improved.

Here is Green on Subban Feb 2016.

As he gets physically stronger, his defensive zone play should continue to get better, said Green.

“He’s still a young guy,” said Green of Subban, who turns 21 years old next month.

“He’s definitely getting stronger and definitely getting better in his defensive zone coverage and his puck battles. But that’s an area he’s going to have to continue to get better at. And it’s also about experience. Every year you’re a pro, you understand the game better than you did as a rookie.”

When breaking down Subban’s game, Green said he was among the most improved players in Utica this year.

“I’m happy with how he’s progressed. He’s probably ahead of where I thought he’d be from the beginning of the year,” said Green.

Green also doesn’t want to stifle what Subban does best with the gifts he has as an offensive defenceman.

“He’s third on our team in scoring right now, so it’s obvious we’re not holding him back,” he said.

“As a defenceman, you compete in your zone and some guys, like Subban, who obviously love the offensive part, we’d never take that away from him.”

I didn't experience that at all, been to San Jose for 5 games over the years and Anaheim for the West Final last year, wore one of my Hawk jerseys to each game and found the vast majority of fans super friendly. Of course there are always tons of Chicago fans that travel around. Actually the worse fan abuse I witnessed was directed at a Flyers fan at game 5 in Chicago in 2010. He was the only Flyers fan in the section and the verbal abuse was merciless through the whole game.

Fans in SJ were awesome in my experience, really nice and just wanted to talk hockey even though my wife and I were wearing Nucks jersey's.

LA I found the people were bumholes, at the game and everywhere.

Anh felt like a tourist attraction but the people were nice enough.

Just don't go to 49ers games or Eagles games wearing another jersey. Otherwise you'll get shanked, robbed or disemboweled.

The plan is to shelf the rebuild and go for the playoffs. And guess what...if we make it in somehow next year and get to the second round you can expect WD to be re-upped for another 3 years. Like it or not Dragon...you'll be stuck with WD another 4 seasons...

So I've heard, those NFL freaks take their fandom way to seriously, somewhat like the hooligan soccer fans in many countries.

Yes, I think they are competing for the same rolls. I just don't think is much of a competition. Subban is a few years away and Larsen has already played and produced at this level
