Nah, no need to put in such work, just didn't know how you had done it, and seeing the numbers at a glance right next to the cap figure would shed some serious light on some bad situations. - stashu
Maybe I can do some later but I was surprised to see that the biggest teams with cap trouble were
Pittsburgh, Columbus, Minnesota, LA, Chicago and Montreal.
A lot of talk about Anaheim not being able to afford all their RFA's when in fact they are likely 20 million or so under the cap. They could easily sign all their RFA's and sign a scoring winger
Arizona, Carolina and NJ are in a league of their own as they have over 30 million in cap space... |

From previous blog to
stashu:
"Can you post something like this again with some numbers at the end showing how many of each position are under contract? maybe 3 sets of numbers in parenthesis showing forwards, d-men and goalies?"
I could... But it would take me awhile..
I did all the other ones using facts given by general fanger and also accounted for it having players like for example Rodriguez counting against our cap when he is very, very likely to start the year in Rochester. So I went through every teams cap and found the players who did a few meaningless games in April and didn't count them to their cap. I could do this again but it would take a long time. I can do a few particular teams if you want me to? - bluengold12

But see this isn't accurate because it accounts for players like Cal O'Riley and Fasching's cap hits for next year when in fact they will both likely start in Rochester.
Buffalo's cap for next year is...
Buffalo Sabres 45,628,689.
Good for fourth best in the league |

Cal's contract is one-way, it'll count towards the cap whether he's in the AHL or NHL. |

I see. Still a chance they will be on the roster too. |

Yeah, not questioning your writing, but don't understand the guy's logic.
"He's watching the ref's hand and trying to time and figure out when he's going to release the puck - CHEATER!!!!!!" - stashu
Crosby was one of only two regulars to show up for practice between games 1 and 2. Interestingly enough he worked on two things. Shooting from the hash marks and repeatedly taking FO's.
I understand a lot of the hate thrown his way, but he's borderline obsessive compulsive with improving his game. We've seen a lot of stars come through Pittsburgh (in all sports) and I think the only player that has ever compared in the "work effort" department is Jagr.
He's not cheating....he's beating. |

I thought that just meant his salary no matter what would be the same? Not the cap hit in Buffalo?
None the less if you add his cap hit it's 46,278,689
Still well under 2 million less then the other website has it |

Sure they have a chance but I'm not counting them against the cap just like I'm not with Bailey or Ullmark who also have a chance |

The one-way does also dictate salary, but I believe it also means the contract counts against the cap even if he's in the AHL. I could be wrong. |

Ah... Okay. Well my cap numbers didn't account for guessing on contracts but with Deslauries's numbers if I were to offer him a contract it would be 700,000 one year deal and let him know there's a possibility he goes down to Rochester. Too bad their agent is the same one who supposedly called Girgensons an all star.... |

Which is proper since every single one of those teams except NJ is posting a negative operating income and losing money... |
