Never said I was cheering for the Pens in the slightest. Just a small silver lining where there otherwise wouldn't be one. |

He's the guy with 13 playoff goals playing in the Stanley Cup Finals. How are you missing him?
I hope he scores 2 or 3 Monday. - wolfhounds
Pointless in the Cup Finals. Small when it matters most.

If they qualify him then I believe that'd be correct. - ob18
That changed a lot from the older schedules. I guess inflation caused the price to go down. |

I like him but anything over $2 to maybe $2.5 on a 2 or 3 yr deal is too much IMHO |

I don't know if anyone else feels way but my expectation of the draft pretty much goes hand in hand of what I expect to see make the team next season, whether it be right out of camp or as the season gets older. Every year I expect to dradt a potential star in the first round but during the 2016-17 season, there is potential to take control of Morin, Provorov and Sanheim as controlled Flyers property should Provorov make the team out of camp. I am hoping others take huge steps aside frombtge obvious Samuel Morin who could become a first call up if need be.
Who do you guys expect to see next season outside of Morin and Provorov? |

Yeah when I first read 3 for 3 I was like wow, is that really $9 million. I like Gudas, but not at $ per year. If they go that high it has to be 2 years, not 3. Too much for too long. I'd pay the premium for a shorter term. Young guys should be more established in a couple years so the Flyers will know what they have.

I would prefer 2.25-2.5, but it's not like an additional .5 mil will hamper anything for the next 3 years. He's a solid top 4 RHD who makes opposing forwards feel mighty uncomfortable. A prospect still has to prove he is better than Gudas...and he was pretty damn good this year. If they need to trade him, there will undoubtedly be a market if he plays at around the level he did. Then he is a cheap, easily tradeable asset who can be unloaded for a 2nd or something. Really there isn't much that can go wrong here. |

I mean, while half of those definitely aren't for pick 18, that's a good list (maybe except for Thompson...if he was a 2nd rounder, perhaps, but he's probably a 1st and not interested at 18). I'm a very very big Fox fan too. But not sure it makes sense...he might be a 4 year guy, and with the logjam we have at D, he could bolt.
I like the names Rubtsov, Kunin, Abramov, and Bean at 18 though. I know they didn't interview Bellows, but add him and that's my realistic wish list. Preferably the forwards. |

MDZ for bozak. There's our 3rd line center. |

I will save someone else the trouble....
Bozak is a mediocre player lifted by top line usage with superstars. He's forward AMac. There is a reason every Leafs fan is trying to hawk him on someone else. MDZ is a legit top 4 guy who is 26. |

Could he be effective in a 3rd line scoring role? Regardless of the trade |

If you inflate the poop out of his usage, good linemates, give him the cushiest minutes, and tons of PP time. Maybe. But even then he isn't anything special. Really he is the definition of a guy who can put up points but is mediocre doing it. I would take Cousins instead 10/10. |

I wonder if they have their eye on drafting Bean and then move Morin or Sanhiem for forward help? More likely Morin I'd suppose as Bean was Sanhiem's D partner. |

If Bean slips past a team like Detroit -- if he gets to 18 I'm saying -- I will be surprised. If they feel he is definitely the clear cut top guy there, then do it.
Swing Morin+ for the Habs' 9th or Avs' 10th. Draft Keller. Biblical level profit. (I would do this so fast. So fast). |

Not sure they assemble their draft list with the intention of making it domino #1. The scouts just want the best player they can get.
How that affects what Hextall ends up doing with those assets once they've been drafted... is kind of outside the scope of the draft conversation, I'd think. |
