yes Thunda, that was a good comparison with respect to racehorses and how significant bloodlines are considered within the sport. I thought I would just repost here on the new blog to see if anyone else may have any input on this matter

I liked Jero's quote. LOL

To further the Bloodline quote. I would also add its up to the parents to start them early make sure its enjoyable. Play with them. My friends Dad played for Chicago he never liked playing hockey but ended up in baseball. Its what they want in their hearts. My kid right now is into swimming, baseball and gymnastics. He never liked soccer. He loves to skate but isn't that interested in hockey yet. I don't plan on pushing him into anything. When he reaches a certain age though he has to pick a sport and stick with it. Athletics and being in shape is very important in my household. When my boys wake up we do stretches together and pushups. If they see you working they tend to follow suit.

Would you trade Sbisa, Pedan and 5OA to Colorado for Barrie and 10OA ?
- shutout47

I don't think there is a snowballs chance in hell the Avs do this deal.

I don't know what all the speculation's about. Whether it's Dubois, Tkachuk or Brown - you can bet your bottom dollar that we take the wrong one...

I want Dubois only if he will further develop as a centre. If both Tkachuk and Dubois play LW, Tkachuk all the way. Between Brown, Tkachuk, and Dubois I would say a definite no to Brown at #5. Brown is someone you move down for and get an extra pick or 2. Dubois played better at centre than wing. I would take him because if you get a franchise centre in any future draft, you have your LW. And if you don't he can be your franchise centre.

I can't say who JB will pick, but regardless of who he picks, I predict lots of b1tching.

Id agree with all of that.

Still hoping JB is able to acquire another 1st rd pick to pick another one of these guys
or sergachev/chychrun later on

I think the only trade chips we have are Hansen, Sbisa, Hamhuis rights, and combining these guys with picks to move up from 63 into the 1st round(smart play for sure). Burrows and Higgins will likely be here next year or bought ought. Might be able to move one or both at TDL if we are lucky(this is where cap retention works in our favor). I could easily see a team willing to give a 4th for Higgins if we retain 50%, or a 2nd for Burrows if we retain 50%(or 3rd + 4th).

Kid looks legit but we need scoring more than D. Our offense is pathetic and we have one 1st line prospect. My wish list: Tkachuk-PLD-Brown-jost-Nylander-juolevo-Serg-Keller

dont see a team offering anything for higgins.
Burrows yes, higgins no. Both guys are excellent in the shootout however. Too bad hockey doesnt have a specific position for that, like in football where you have a dedicated kicker.

a 1.25mil Higgins may fetch something if it is only for a few months. BUt your right, probably not.
