There is no need for speculation. Vantel wants Brown so that is who Benning will select

Here is a trade I would consider. Burrows ( or Higgins if needed) for Hartnell and Rychel.

Before you shake your head , it is reported Lucic wants 6 x6 , that is horrible. Similar type players like Brouwer or Ladd are going to be hunting in the 6 mil range also.
Hartnell has 3 years left at 4.75 and brings the same type of game. He still scores over 20 goals a year and brings sandpaper. Yes he is 34. On top of that Kirby Rychel is a young player much like Sven so it could be considered as a second round pick.

Less Cap , less term , get a young prospect, and move out Burr.

I agree - I don't think we should be paying 6Mil to Lucic or Brouwer - it doesn't fit into the game plan. Hartnell is a consistent type of player we should target but maybe a few years older than I'd prefer - who do you think he could play with?

Also, I've said it months ago and i'll say it again, I think McGinn or Boedker are the guys to target, due to style of play, speed, toughness, age, salary numbers - Boedker's 210 pound body in front and speed would be fun to watch with the Sedins...allow Sutter to play 2nd line and Bo 3rd - good for development purposes too

Here is the thing. If you let him go till 10 some other team may grab him. He is a risk that could have a very high reward. He could also be a Brian Boyle. He is still very young. Myself I would take Dubois first because he is the safer pick.

The games I have seen Brown I have been very impressed but that is against smaller Jr. Players.

I would really like to see a second line of Hartnell Sutter and Virtanen. I think SH would be perfect for Jakes game. JV and Sutter would bring the speed and Scotty and JV would bring the bang.

If any one of Erikssen, Lucic, Ladd, Brower are going to cost you 6million dollars plus over a number of years and a NTC, JB can go f@ck his hat. We need to get rid of these exorbitant contracts out of our system and build from within. I would only pay Stamkos ridiculous money.

There's a difference between spending a couple of bucks and maxing out your credit cards. If the Canucks are getting into bidding wars over high end UFAs it'll make them a better team next year but will hurt down the road. JB inherited a team with next to no cap flexibility, hopefully he doesn't want to get back there.

Many here overvalue players worth also, Hansen is only worth a 1st if someone is willing to pay that.

certainly I dont take everything said here as true value either.... still when you look at recent trade history he's clearly worth more than a 2nd. Perhaps a late 1st.
