As much as I want a sniper or goal scorer, I'd like one who is still capable of playing in all zones.
They don't have to be the best in all zones but I'd like to at least see the effort. - ob18
That's paramount, but for a guy whose calling card was scoring goals, he wasn't Alex Ovechkin out there. Kunin's a better shooter and all around player. Gauthier's got the tools, not sure he's willing to use them all the time

Agreed, add it to the list for why he's not on my list.

He's intriguing. Maybe if they trade into the back end of the 1st round. I don't think I'd take him over my top 5-7 names at 18.
Abramov and Asplund have made their way into the mix, for me, as well - Jsaquella
Abramov was one of my dark horses before I bought the BB. They rave about him...the scouts too. He is a player I would love to trade back up for or even down for if worst case scenarios play out. He just strikes me as the next dynamic Russian.

He was a guy I would have considered as a dark horse, now, he might be in my top 3-4 names.

The only times he's standing still is when he's in prime scoring areas. - Jsaquella
I only got to see Kunin in the prospects game. But he is just so smart as a scorer, and responsible defensively even if he is more a c/wing hybrid. Much to like. He always knows where to be to get that opportunities and is always working to get them.

There's some good videos out there that show the smarts. I see him more of a winger than C. He just finds the seams and that quick release is needed.

I think there's a chance he could slip to ~28-30 range. I would be very very interested in trading up for him. He just has everything you want in a slippery smaller skill player: consistency, jaw dropping abilities, burning skating, and he even tries hard defensively, though size is an issue. 5th in Q scoring.
If he hits, he is everything the modern NHL is about.
From the very little I have looked up on these guys.
Trade up for Bellows.
Stay away from Gauthier and Jones. - flyer_nutter
Bellows is my 2nd choice at 18. Kid's a player. Some scouts seem concerned he might not be able to fully translate his junior success to the NHL. But I like what I've seen.

Yep. He's an exciting player. Absolute playmaker. If he was 6'2" they'd have to trade up to even consider

I do too. I've seen all the highlights, but the prospects game watching him play 20 min of shifts (back in September though, so it is outdated) was so intriguing. Very very smart. 2-way too. The Wisconsin comparison is too easy, but he has a little Pavelski about his game.

You want the best player available and all that doo daa.
I get that. I just want something as close to top 6 talent with decent size as possible. Trade up to get it if need be.
Debrincat is another of similar size and scoring ability if they wanted to consider moving up for either. - ob18
I'm not anti-DeBrincat, but even before reading up on him, I wouldn't have touched him before round 2. Little is fine. Little and slightly above average speed is worrisome to me.

How about Dennis Cholowski? - ob18
His report was fascinating. Literally checked off every single buzz word I look for in a dman. IF he fell to 48, which I'm questioning if he falls to even 30, he would be a great pick. He won't though.
