So, you're saying Joe Pavelski is so lacking in imagination, creativity, and talent that all he can do is provide the hockey equivalent of a Kidz Bop cover of Giroux's original performance?

Sad.

Everytime I see a description I like and then check their stats online to see how they match up, I jot the name down with a target round or two estimate. So I'm pretty much just going name by name alphabetically and seeing what happens.

My 2/3 list feels quite d heavy so far, besides the handful of forwards I already had in my mind before reading BB. I have a ton of RDs jotted down throughout the draft. Not on purpose.

I've tended to be forward heavy. Just finished watching a 10 minute video of Adam Mascherin, reminds me a bit of Mark Recchi

His skating worries me -- he's like a heavier, shorter, maybe even worse skating Nick Cousins in that regard. If he was even average, he'd be a 1st rounder. He has got serious skill and sniping ability. But that skating in the NHL...in today's NHL and at that size, it could be a detriment to letting him use those skills. If you can't keep up with the play or can't create your own space, it can be very easy to be stopped. He's got such abilities though. Not worth writing off, but that might be a fatal flaw.

My list is partially d heavy because I'm only at "I"...just haven't come across many yet. Most of my potential picks for us at 2/3 were forwards beforehand though (probably bc that's what I wanted). Dahlen is still my #1 target for the second round, even in a trade up.

If memory serves, you and half the page hated Mark Recchi for the firing of one awful Coach in Bill Barber.

Yeah, the thing is, I'm sure if all three of those guys are there, at least one of Kunin, Rubtsov, Abramov or Asplund should be as well. In that case, I'd strongly consider one of them. I think guys like McLeod, Howden & Bellows go before all of those other 4 do.

I'm liking Rubstov the more I see of him. Not a flashy player but seems very solid all around. Seems like his puck possession game is very strong also. I think he would be a very good fit for the system.

I read/saw a mock yesterday afternoon that had us taking Rubtsov. from what I have read, seems he hasn't gotten as much exposure as he should/could have with the U-18 meldonium scandal. Potential steal?

if there is any jersey shore people in here this morning, can any of you guys recommend a place to stay for the night down there? Preferably something moderately reasonable for Saturday night.

I would love to have him. He is going to be a very good player.

I think he could end up being a Carl Soderberg with a bit of a better scoring touch.

I just know he is the type of player people here will not respect. Couts like in that his offensive numbers are never going to blow you away, but his total game is iinvaluable.

People like to throw around Datsyuk's name.. if he wasnt Russian they wouldnt even make the comparision. He is skilled, and plays a very good defensive game. He is machine like in that he just makes solid plays over and over again.

No the Flyers are in great position....but things will change before the draft. Right away ANA is wrong. They may trade Vatanen this summer and would pick option 1...bam no Kesler

No way Pittsburgh loses Murray
