Man, good luck finding a center through trade in this league. The wheel has spun from Goalies to Defensemen and onto Centers as the NHLs hottest commodity.
Id look to draft that guy. - mayorofangrytown
I'd be willing to pay a premium for a good one. Not like I'm asking Marner for Morin

I think he's one of those guys that doesn't dominate or isn't flashy, but he looks to me to be the type of all around top 4 guy with good size, wheels and skill that plays 15 years in the NHL. I'd be very happy with him at 18 - BiggE
He'll probably be a pretty decent defensive player once he settles his game down a bit.
I'm just not sold on his ability to put all his tools together, tho.
I just think we're too far away to start offering up multiple assets for one decent player. - mayorofangrytown
I agree...really need to see what we have on the horizon before they start doing that. It woudlnt be impossible to predict but its a riskier proposition

We talking Chickenrun? He's not dropping to 18. He murdered the combine and interviews too. I still doubt he falls past top 10. I don't care for him either.....in some ways he reminds me of a high end Nick Schultz. That's not a bad player. But it isn't one I make a top pick on. He just doesn't have what is needed upstairs to be that top pairing guy imo. At least not one in the metrics. But I'm sure a GM/coach sees the size, tools, and intensity and will make him one.
I do like though how if he did fall to 18, we HAVE to take him...if that happened, there's a good chance it happened for a reason....
Chychrun and McLeod are much the same player to me. One plays fwd, one d. Same strengths and issues.
