He is in Toronto getting tests done on is bloo blot issue. If he passes without any red flags YES he will be a leaf. His contract is not issurable; so the team will do all due dillegence before committing any long term dollars.
The contract is set for 9.1/9.2 per season. - Kinggilmour
Why? I highly doubt that. |

To Anaheim
JVR, Kapanen, Sharks 2017 2nd, and the 29/30th, 56th and 61st picks in this years draft
To Toronto
Vatanen, Gibson and 24th overall
Anaheim gets a 1st line LW for Getlaf and Perry.
JVRs cap hit and contract gives the Ducks lots of cap room to resign Andersen long term and commit to him as their #1.
as well this doesn't rush Ritchie.
Kapanen adds top tier prospect depth on the RW for Anaheim.
with a late 1st and two late 2nd round picks in this draft, and another high 2nd from the Sharks in 2017, the Ducks will be able to restock the offensive and goaltending cupboards.
Boyle can be called up to backup Andersen or they can sign a FA backup.
Leafs get a top-4 right handed defensemen who will add depth to a very depleted/young blueline. Vatanen is 25 and could have a relative long career with Toronto.
the main piece is Gibson coming back.
Lou nailed down Brodeur and Schneider giving the Devils almost 25 years (still counting) of top notch goaltending.
Lou swings for Gibson who has been the highest rated goalie prospect since he was drafted.
with Bernier on the last year of his contract don't be surprised if he is moved at the trade deadline and Gibson takes over as #1.
as well Toronto does move up from 30th to 24th overall, and potentially this could be a precursor to the Leafs moving into the top-20 if they package the 24th and 31st overall picks.
oh and in the case you believe Gibson would fetch a bigger steak then switch him for Andersen and lose the 29/30th overall, or something to that extent. I'd be fine with Andersen as well if the price is right.
thoughts? - LukeHerrington
Meh, the R-hand shot aspect doesn't really hit home with me. We have Zaitsev, Corrado and Carrick who all shoot right at this point. I'd rather see how they pan out than start tossing away assets for a relatively small right handed top 4 d-man |

i was thinking $9.5M max at this point. Salary cap, health, point totals in the last year didn't really set stamkos up to negotiate top salary in the league.
Do the leafs trade for his rights? |

you may want to read up on that.
Players that sign with existing LTI that come back IE blood clot; Cancer: cannot be insured nor can they be used as LTIR cap relief; nor can it bought out.
The team will have to pay out the entire contract as well have it count against the Cap figure.

How many teams would you figure could afford to take a chance on an uninsured contract like that? Toronto and New York? I bet not a lot of other teams could. |

If he is cleared by Drs from the blood clot, why would he be uninsurable?
I'm not sure I'm buying this.
Edit: actually I know this is bs cause Horton (who has an uninsured contract) is and has been on ltir. So try again? |

ok then

Laine scored more goals than Matthews during the 2015-16 season - 48 to 41 - but he did it in 96 games, while Matthews netted his in 64. That gives Matthews the goals per game average nod over Laine (.64 to .5).
Wait...did this moron just make this argument? Is this real life? Does he actually get paid to be at TSN? |
