that was really hard to write as I met him late in the season and he really wants to come back...a true professional on the ice, a gracious conversationalist and generally a real good guy...i'd like to see him back, but don't think it will happen |

If you sign Schaller in a one way deal and intend on him playing in Buffalo all year, is there a purpose to keep Legwand? They play the same role but I'm willing to bet Legwand is better at it at this point. Is Schaller your 13th forward? Because maybe Moulson is the 13th forward. |

if he's willing to stay in Rochester (not sure what was said between the two of you), why wouldn't he be back? |

who knows?...it's real early so this is preliminary...but definitely agree with the Legwand/schaller comparison |

Wasn't he also involved in some kind of coaching/development capacity ? |

A player-coach?
I'm not too sure. Based on what I read throughout the year, that's pretty much what he was. My guess is he signs up for one more year to play in Rock on retire and maybe start out at Hockey U |

ahl teams must dress at least 12 "developmental" players on a nightly basis...they may dress at most five players with 260+ professional games played and one with 320+ pro games played...
the amerks had trouble with that last season...not sure if there will be room for him |

Gen Fan has him as a 15-16 UFA even though he had a one year AHL contract. Maybe that's why he didn't show. I mean, who's going to notice if you're injured 80% of every season? He did win the Amerks Man of the Year award. You gotta think one or both of those guys hold leadership value to the Amerks. Having both though would be tough to justify. |

MFE transitions into an assistant coach in Rochester and then Rochester signs Tim Kennedy. Veteran for younger veteran who is a better player. |

I also believe they're part of the "old guard" from the previous regime...murray made a huge trade with Binghamton and moved a chunk of players from the Regier regime...his stamp on Rochester is becoming more pronounced |

The article written about him for one. But it does make sense. They want Rochester to be better and he is and was a very good AHLer. |

Off topic...but...back to my Clayton Keller/Mikhail Sergachev drum beating. Craig Button of TSN has done his final draft rankings. Keller comes in at 6, while Sergachev is in at 8 (and top dman). Keller is the real deal. I really hope Murray doesn't let the size scare him off. Size is nice...but speed and skill is too. We have a lot of size in our lineup...now we need some high end skill to go with Jack and Sam.
Of note...Chychrun falls to 17 (the 6th ranked dman) according to Button. |
