Yes he did. They all do, if you think about it. (Hell, Cal Freaking O'Reilly made $700,000 last year - that's 10 years of income for most families.)
I made that post to respond to your suggestion that "THEY ALL LOOK FOR THE MOST MONEY."
Sidney left money on the table to be where he wanted to be. - Der Kaiser
We are going way off subject Blue and gold said cizikas would not control what Gus would get ..
I said players look at the contract and compare them and agents do it I'm talking about fourth line players and third liners right now
I dont care about superstars they should get paid whatever they want |

I was making A bad example I already got hammered
But to say players don't look at contracts and compare them is just a lie even us fans do it when a player signs - GERBE!!!75PTS
Of course a players agent wouldn't be doing his job to keep up with who got what. But at the end of the day if the client wants to stay he needs to work out the best deal to make that happen and not just for the most money.
You like bringing up Tim Kennedy and how his agent screwed him.
Perfect example of why you can't always just push for the most money. |

That's what I was trying to explain to blue and gold that agents, players use the contracts
We all went way off the tracks |

OK, the way I see it:
We have the draft coming up, free agency, maybe trades, maybe signing someone else's reject (next Briere)....all that is fine and dandy and the reason talking hockey in June in Buffalo is fun. BUT for a moment, forget about all the other potential roster changes and who might be traded, and what I see is:
=Two top-notch premier players coming back who are going to light it up this year. There's no stopping both Sam and Jack from getting 30 goals and 60 pts each, both before they can buy beer. Awesome!
=maybe a healthy, speedy sniper winger will be back. The one guy on our team with wheels who gets 20+ per year not named Kane. Ennis stays healthy and maybe he's a 30-goal guy?
=The increased maturation and hopefully improvement of McCabe and Risto gets us half of our top-4 in a fantastic place.
=Nelson will be next year's Ghost, I predict. It may not happen right away but when he gets the call he is going to be scary good for us.
=Lehner has a lot to prove, and these months off could be all he needs to show he's #1 and not #2 (tee-hee). A good, cheap starter will go a long way.
=The rest of the team now has a year with their coach....last year I saw a team that was trying to fly around but getting beaten soundly for a few months, then things seemed to gel more and more after New Year. Jack picked it up, Kane seemed less of a spaz, even whipping boys like Pysyk, Gio and Foligno picked it up at the end. Big onus on Disco to get this team ready for a full 82+.
=unless moved, I seriously will be shocked if 28 doesn't bounce back. Just 2 years ago we all were in love with Girgs, Foligno and Ennis as the next French Connection. He is still a .35 ppg player, even after the sh!tstorm that was last year.
All things to be positive about, without even a single move or draft pick being made.
Full disclaimer: I'm on vacation and the wife and kid are out of town, just finished my first Corona (sadly, only 11 of her sisters are left) so I am in a heck of a mood. |

The Crosby article posted says otherwise.
The grass isn't always greener.
See Brad Richards, Chris Drury, Danny Briere etc etc.
They get paid an insane amount of money as it is.
Many times players leave $ on the table.
Patty Kane and Toews got paid a lot of money (the same exact contract) to stay.
PK could have gotten more from his hometown team though. - Stripes77
Money isn't an issue to guys like Crosby who are going to play 15+ years and get endorsements. Their situations are 20x different than a bottom 6 player who will be lucky to play 10 |

Can you name a bunch of players that opted for neither a big pay day or long term security? Because I'm pretty sure that's the point here. Czikas got long term security and a good pay day. 100% of players want at least one of those things |

PK took a bridge deal before his big pay day.
He gambled and it paid off but what if it wouldn't have? |

His bridge deal was a gamble to eventually get a HUGE pay day. Again, what are we talking about here? Gerbe is right, bottom 6 players will push for more money because of Czikas.
They are a ton less likely to take discounts or take the city into consideration than a Crosby or Subban etc |

And it's not always going to work out in their favor is what I am saying.
Also just because 1 team paid it doesn't mean 29 others will |

It not automatic, but some posters are on here all the time and talk about their daily lives regularly. Those conversations inevitably mention work, and we get to know one another. Like, for example
Cabin sells manufacturing parts and equip
89 works at a hotel in Vegas
Stripes is a hockey ref.
Homie works nights and sells fish on the side.
Jochfr is a male stripper
Deadhead slings booze
Indy is a engineer
Goose worked for verizon
Feet on Air is a law student
I'm on disability and steal my mothers Social security checks |
