"We’re doing our due diligence. If we can move down and get a top-six player and a second-round pick, we have to keep our options open."
He doesn't mean a top 6 now player he means trading down to 12(or somewhere) and getting a future top 6 player. So trading down later into the first and adding a second round pick. |

I can t imagine JB will move down. He may want to move up but with all the interviews and comments Ive heard from him it seems he's comfortable and confident with his #5, with drafting tkachuk or dubois. Seems to love both players. |

That was an incredible performance by Jones (I didn't think there was any way he would be able to withstand the barrage that Pittsburgh kept throwing at him, particularly in the third period). San Jose better get their act together, though, as I don't think Jones can continue to stand on his head the way he did last night. |

Yakupov... Take over right where his childhood idol left off... He could actually thrive there in VanCity. |

Dillon is really showing his comparable skills, that 3rd pairing of Dillon and Polak are the only minus players on that team. |

From what I've seen in the first few games, I would agree that that pairing is the weak link in the defensive scheme of things. They just don't seem to have the footspeed to match up with any of the lines that the Pens throw at them. I've always thought that Dillon had some excellent potential (this was when he was still with Dallas) but it looks like he's going through some growing pains at the worst possible time. Meanwhile Polak is simply too slow to play that type of up-tempo game. It will be interesting how they will be deployed in Game 6 - perhaps they need to triple shift Burns (who has been an absolute beast) |

yes he looks really really good. He just hope he can translate that to nhl....some cant. I believe he will.

Its a big step for Goalies. Toughest position in the game to play. It's the most physically demanding and mentally demanding job in the game. I have seem so many goalies with all the physical tools to be great in the NHL and fall short because they are the mentally unprepared. |

Maybe you're right. It is more ambiguous than how I took it when I first read it.
I was pretty pumped about the Matt Duchene discussion in yesterday's blog. Not saying that a fifth pick would yield Duchene and a second but I do think Colorado could move him. I learned from talking to him at the World Championship just how sharp he is—he'd be on my wish list. |

Great game by Jones however a bit of the horseshoes were going his way. PIT hit three posts in a row after tying the game and man that could have been 5-2 and SJ would literally have been toast. Good to be lucky and lucky to be good I guess. |

I originally read it the way manvan suggested but it is possible that he could of meant it as in a top 6 player now. Certainly your theory is supported by what dreger was saying.

The luck was flowing both ways, those 2 goals on Jones were both deflections.
Murray looked straight up bad, funny after all the Conn Smythe talk. |

for sure. 2/3 Murray let in were pretty weak and SJ seems to have found Murrays cheat spot with that high shelf goal that he has been burned twice on. Luck always goes both ways. That SJ third goal was damn lucky too...could have deflected off Murrays glove and not into the net. |
