You don't walk away from 2.5 million dollars.

Remember when Steve Nash was injured and couldn't play his last year. People said he should retire and he said that would be stupid considering he had $9m coming to him. Was nice to hear an athlete speak his mind.

True, but he is not injured, and the alternative is to ride a bus in Utica for a season. May be worth giving up the 2.5 to avoid it. Nash was able to just sit on his sofa and collect 9mil.

Keep trying to convince yourself. Its not hard to ride a bus and play the game you love for only a year at 2.5 million. We are not talking chump change.

Edit: Higgins was also the hardest working guy in the off season who's name wasnt Sedin. The guys a gamer.

I'd ride the bus in Utica for a year and $100,000. $2.5MM

If Gallagher and the 9 th were truly available , that's your BPA.

There is your right winger to play out the Sedins contract. 24 years old and 4 years left at 3.75 . Where do I sign?

- VANTEL

Then you flip the 9th and something else for the 3rd and draft jp one can dream

Please learn to read before you reply. It will help in the future. BTW there will be some more below this sentence, just an FYI.

I said True, which is me stating you are right. Your bolded sentence above is pointless. We never know what is going through a players head. Last year he did not seem very happy about playing in Utica. He is a gamer and has had a long career in the NHL not the AHL. The possibility will always exist that a player like Higgins, pride and all, may not want to finish his Career playing in the AHL. He may not retire and try his best to stay in the NHL and leave 29 teams on his trade list to do so. But that doesn't change the fact that if he doesn't want the AHL, and has it in his head that is the only place he will play next season, he could do just that.

Hello, friends.

The draft math for Ty Ronning is not looking very favourable at this time, and more details on the rules of the expansion draft, in today's blog:

What didn't I read? How do you know whats in his head? He could play in the NHL next season. So not the NHL where Europe? Don't get snarky because I had 2.5 million reasons why he would never retire in the last year of his contract.

Who was the one to come up with the idea of hiring Tallon and have him work alongside JB?

The more I think about it, the more I like that idea.

There are easily 10 teams in the NHL that could benefit from having Higgins on the 4th line and for the PK. He knows Van is going with a youth movement. I'm thinking he will be the back end of a trade package...

Personally I would release Therrien. Montreal keeps bringing back the same personnel. Doesn't make sense to me. Lets keep doing the same thing over and over and expect a different result.
