When a DMAN can consistently give you close to 50 pts per season you find a way to deal with his shortcomings. - LordHumungous
I agree but what happens when the best part of their defense goes down? (Price)
They need to be better defensively. I don't think trading him is the answer but they need a more responsible defensemble as a whole. They proved they couldn't even outscore their opponents.
Best start in history is foiled by losing one guy? Seems a bit crazy to me. The team needs to be more accountable. |

It's not so crazy when that goalie is widely considered to be the best on the planet.
I agree Subban has his flaws but he is still Norris quality most seasons. You find a way to deal with his inablilities. All Norris quality Dmen have shortfalls…can't get around it. Thing is you HAVE to have one on the roster if you want a championship. Pretty much status quo. |

I will never put him in the same category as Doughty. That is just absolute madness. Although, I don't disagree he can improve but at 9 million it's a gross contract. Not the worst but pretty bad so far.

And I still think the other rules stand as well in regards to the choices of players to protect. Although, they may have added that in there to ensure some quality players will be available. I'm curious if those games include AHL games because it counting towards years played rules. |

If you want Norris quality Dmen youm have to pay…it is what it is.
I agree Subban ain't quite as good as Doughty as Doughty has two cups and that Olympic performance that was unreal…but that's not to say Subban won't get there.
Plus Subban has had a 60 pt season and Doughty hasn't been close to that. Even though Subban isn't a two time champ and a gold medalist, doesn't make him 'not' worth 9 mil per. If I had a Norris quality D on my roster that gave me 60 pts per year I'm sure I could pony up 9 mil.

I just don't think he has earned his money since being signed to 9 million. Only he can change my opinion of that.

Looking at the Canadiens line up, it's not that good. |

Speculation or not it wouldn't surprise me that they are interested in moving out a player or two for a shake up. |

Personally I would release Therrien. Montreal keeps bringing back the same personnel. Doesn't make sense to me. Lets keep doing the same thing over and over and expect a different result. |

Whether or not you think he did is irrelevant. It went to arbitration and they decided his value. the MTL Gm is worse than Benning at contracts. If i remember he was trying to low ball with 6mil and Subban was wanting 7.5-8. Guess that bit the GM in the a$$. |

Expansion draft.
Teams have to expose 2 forward and 1 Dman.
The player has had to play 40 games this year or 70 over the last two years.
Players with NMC and NTC are counted as protected players.
This means Sbisa needs to play needs to play 30 games this year , Dorsett. Played 71 last year, Granlund played 43 last year. I imagine they are your three you put up. - VANTEL
so you dont buy out burrows or higgins and expose THEM to expansion. So we lose nothing of actual assets. Problem solved. |

I think it would count towards the forwards exposed over 70 games for sure. They are in a pretty good spot for the expansion if and when it becomes official. |

I would like to get Sergachev and know that the goalies and D are taken care of for the next decade. You can let Sbisa play his final year this year as Sergachev gets one more year of growing.
Then all cap space could concentrate on forwards. |

My actual first thought was should I fart in bed or get up and go in the other room ,so I don't kill the wife.
After that , yeah thinking hockey. |
