They were outmatch speed and grit wise, but Their coach was completely outmatch strategy wise as well. Never learned that trying to pass the puck around in the offensive zone 5+ times waiting for an opportunity to present itself was not the way to score on murry. They needed to take the pens approach and simply pepper shots as soon as half a lane opened up and then dig to the net for rebounds. Perhaps he'll learn from his stubbornness and bounce back next year, but I fear big joe and Marleau may never get that cup

My daughter used to play volleyball. Sometimes you'd run into a team that just focused on getting the damn thing back across - no set plays, no real strategy, just get it over as quick as possible and hope things go wrong for the other side.

We called it TShirt volleyball: they usually didn't have much of a program or budget for uniforms

The Pens "just shoot it" approach reminds me of TShirt volleyball.
