Nope - he won't, clb might ask for him but gmtm would never do it. Common logic - Samson was a #2 pick 2 years ago, is a proven NHL commodity and will only get better. Why would you trade him for a #3 who may end up great, but is unproven NHL wise and is 2 years behind in the development curve.

That was not what the discussion was about. They were talking about if he was in this draft class, not being traded.

Someone said the draft was not that deep, and the rebuttal was if Reinhart was in this draft, he would go 5 or lower. That was followed up by saying he would be in the discussion as being taken 3rd overall if he was in this draft class.

I think you're right. Chychrun makes too much sense with his upside and relations to the Pegula's. As for the Reinhart/risto trade proposals, it's funny that people underestimate the values of our "superstars" and overstate the values of our 3rd/4th liners. If gmtm wanted to get to #3 or #4 be should be able to do it with #8, grigs or Pysyk (depending on if it's clb or edm) and a 2nd or 3rd rounder or a prospect. EDM wants to draft a dman and clb a center and neither should be picked at 3 and 4.

I think after the first 5 there will be a run of a dmen selected. I would bet Calgary goes for Juolvei and Arizona taps Sergachev. I am sure Murray would like to trade up to 4 and who knows what the asking price will be to move up 4 slots.

It doesn't make sense to do that, agreed. And I would love Tkachuk in Buff. Maybe Calgary and Edm swap picks, the Oilers get their dman and the Flames get Tkachuk.

I can't disagree. There could be another trade with Ottawa. It is so quiet I have no clue who Murray will trade for. And realistically, a Hoffman trade would make sense.

Maybe they select Chick-run and make a trade with Anaheim for either Vatanen or Fowler. They'll really shore up the D with those moves on day one. Just spitballing. Then maybe sign UFA forward. Call it a day.

Reasonable assumption - a sniper Iike Hoffman would look great with eichel, though defense would be scary with that line. Couple this by signing vesey, trading for or signing a LHD and re-signing Johnson at G and I call that a great offseason

History has shown you can possibly get a franchise defensemen in the second round or a very good defenseman

With our pipeline so dry on wing and we need some speed in this organization He could be our version of Johnny hockey I see no flaws in his game only weaknesses he's small But he has Great puck protection he can't get knocked off the puck easily, hes super fast , he's an absolute sniper ,his hockey sense is Great , and he's great at passing and making plays I think this guy is the total package
