Some Finnish guy on Twitter is suggesting in broken English that we're really intent on trading up to 4 in a blockbuster that would result in Hall and Sam switching teams and then flipping 4 and 3 with CBus to nab Puljujarvi. Stamkos angle unaffected by this. Probably nonsense, but food for thought who would like/dislike that? Haven't been on in a while so I'm not sure if this was discussed. I personally wouldn't love losing Sam. Has the type of IQ you're born with. Also said Vesey will sign here. Don't put any merit to this, but interesting nonetheless
Had the pleasure of playing with a bunch of the Miss. Ice Dogs over the summer of '05. Even their shots were hard enough where if you caught one in an unprotected area...black and blue...and yellow bruises. The bad ones that you limp off for a few days. I obviously was encased in the finest equipment Don Simmons would provide. This still happened once or twice a practice where I would either catch one awkwardly that hurt or full out get pegged. It happened much more frequently most likely because I was out of my league. One thing it showed me was just how dangerous being a goaltender could be. In a game with one puck going, it's easy, you just stay square. In a practice with 100 pucks on the ice, guys shooting from different angles and behind your back...you're gonna get hit. The more equipment you take away, the more injuries we will suffer. Literally in my last practice with those guys, I suffered a bone bruise that kept me out a couple months if I remember rightly...a deflection in front of the net that hit me right on the top of the knee. My point is, be careful what you wish for, we don't want to have to have 5 goalies dressing for each game.

Getting Hall would be great but he's probably what Sam becomes if left on the wing: a 20+ goals/30+ ASsist guy. However, Hall has trouble staying in the lineup and for all his accomplishments the guy has never netted 30 goals, whereas with Sam we don't know how high his ceiling is...the fact he's a center, super smart and still only 20 years old and might grow to contribute in other areas that someone like Hall doesn't, like on the pk and faceoffs, is tough to lose.
We'd have to be giving up more than Sam and #8 if we get Hall and #4 back....Bogo? Guhle? Jeez, hopefully not Risto or McCabe.

First- there was a broken Finnish guy on Twitter who claimed to be friends with Risto and had us completing - as a done deal - some insane deal that never came to pass. So ...
Second, Too many people are locking in on certain "beauty pageant" names and disregarding the entire market. Sabres365 stops in from time to time to remind us that budget-strapped Ottawa has an RFA winger they can't afford to pay who's stats are almost dead-on comparable to Hall's, and who likely is far more obtainable.
And don't forget, Samson is GMTMs first ever pick: that's not a thing a proud man gives away.
Look for a move w Mike Hoffman, w 23 staying here is Buff.

We don't need 2 wings we need 1 wing 1 D.
We will not trade away the D (as we would have to for that deal) to get forwards.

I like his line of thought.
I agree that GMTM would have a hard time trading Samson, and personally I like to watch him play with Jack and/or ROR...so I don't want to see him moved.
If we get Hoffmann, do we still go after Stamkos?
Or go get another FA to fill the void in the top 6.?
Or do we wait to see what a fully recovered Ennis brings to the table?

All we'll hear is he only trades with his former teams or for players he heavily scouted in their draft year.............
what do you thing about MARKUS NIEMELĂ„INEN? 6'6", 205 lbs. i know i love finnish D-men, maybe he will not be a top2 D, but tim Murray can move 2 and lot of 3 rounds for climb up and take niemelainen?
