I just saw this in the CA comments section,
It s being reported that Montreal has just traded defenseman Alexi Emelin and prospect Mike McCarron plus their first rounder (#9) to Vancouver for the Canucks pick (#5). - hillbillydeluxe
Oh god I hope not. That is a horrible return. |

How would you know Juulsen's numbers went way down, he wasn't rated that Hugh in the 1st round last draft so his pedigree isn't as good as when he was picked. No thanks we don't need another bottom 6 dman so this trade so becomes redundant so yes its a non starter.
Tryamkin has already showed promise in his short time here. The Avs want a dman to take a position when they trade Barrie this summer. So depending on the packages being bandied about its not laughable. Maybe you don't see it that way but a package is simply that it's not the only piece. - allsports
Points aren't everything. There are a lot of reasons Juulsen's production went down and no it's not because he is a poopty prospect. I recommend you either educate yourself on the situation beyond merely looking at points are you hold your tongue because that long-winded statistical analysis you just did isn't making you look very smart.
To save you some time, Juulsen is a solid two-way defender who was Everett's #1D and Everett is a team that plays a very defensively structured game and who also just lost a lot of high-end offensive players causing their PP to drop from 3rd best to 2nd worst.
And the whole Tyramkin thing wasn't even meant to be debated. It's a joke proposal for a reason. If you think it's a serious possibility then you need to get out of this thread for a bit and quit reading Vantel spew unadulterated homerism backed up by "I always trust the GM to do what is right" and "if you don't agree then you are a troll and need to go away." |

Interesting. I think that would be good for the Nucks personally. McCarron is underrated in my opinion. Would open up the possibility of taking one of the top D-men or someone like Brown at #9.
Would have to protect McCarron tho and take on Emelin |

I don't think it is true either.
I don't think I like it unless there were other moves made at the same time, like moving Sbisa and maybe another younger forward.
And I'd guess if JB wanted to shore up the d some more, he could just resign Hamhuis for the same salary as Emelin.
McCarron does look like JB's type of prospect. |

You like putting words in other people's mouths and you're the one who should learn how to read and get out the Canucks thread for just trying to instigate hate onto you.
You're the troll for not being able to rationally have a discussion and have some debate without calling people other names and suggesting they leave the thread.

Exactly why do we want another dman who coughs up the puck and gets out of position by looking for the big hit. An older Sbisa 2.0, no thanks.

I think that proposal is just a counter to that one that included Gallagher.
No place for Emelin, our top 4 is set with Edler, Tanev, Hutton and Gudbranson and he'd be overpaid to play third pairing... |

Emelin is thought of as a cap dump anyways.
You are right though, he is the east coast sbisa. |

Probably and I'm sure that the proposals will keep going back in forth if there is some real interest on both sides. It's all talk right now but i wouldn't want Emelin either at $4m/yr might as well sign Hamhuis again.

yep.
I don't mind the Gud trade, but didn't really like the Granlund trade. I'd rather Shink was traded for a pick and if we needed a 4th line centre, sign a guy like Cracknell. JB wanted to bring in some players on the cusp, but if they are fringe, you have to play them or expose on waivers.
Just like with Pedan, play him or trade him because I think someone will pick him up if he goes through waivers. I'd rather see Pedan in the lineup than Emelin. |

Calm down man. All I'm saying is it's pretty dumb to laugh at that MTL draft pick swap proposal and then seriously discuss a way more ridiculous proposal that favors your team. It's actually kinda the definition of homerism. Also, it's kinda hard to have a rational discussion with people who are irrational homers and not at all in touch with reality (e.g., Tyramkin + for Duchene = irrational discussion). |

For sure I'd like to see Pedan get a chance with the canucks but with Willie don't know if that's going to happen given Willie is pretty strong minded about his player impressions. After all all Pedan has done is do everything Benning asked him to do since he was traded here so why not give him a chance or else we will probably will lose him as a young dman with potential. |

I know it's difficult for you to read before typing so if you actually read what I said and come back with a rational comment then it's worth discussing.
