Nope, sorry but you're wrong. So, so very wrong.....

It was the two previous years that we had 2 x 1st round picks, not Boesers draft year.

dude you don't have to stick the knife in AND twist all he was saying is that JB was surprised Boeser was still available so late in the draft, jeezuz

Tkachuk is the kinda guy you want in the playoffs.
- Bieksa#3

True, but I would say that JP is a bigger faster more savvy player who has more upside while still playing a complete game.

Fixed....

Now you are the wrong one, he was insinuating that Benning took him with his second draft pick of the year and that the first pick was a bust who, it is insinuated, was possibly traded for a bottom 6 forward with a poor contract and a high cap hit.

I, however, was just calmly and rationally slicing into the body of his statements to gently remove the untruths with a sharp curved scalpel. Just because I had to twist and dig it in a little to ensure that all the hateful cancer was removed does not mean that I took any sadistic pleasure in doing so (I did but that is not the point), and for you to bring the good lord, Baby Jesus, into this discussion is downright troubling, may the good lord have mercy on your darkened heathen heart and may the worms of maggots not descend on your flesh as they did the sinners of old when they Blasphemed before him.

I guess some of my posts are too long and folks miss the point, I should have gotten my fact checkers to look into it before posting but thought it was all pretty casual in here.

I welcome being corrected, but it was disappointing the point was missed.

It seems funny that many take consensus rankings as gospel and yet we see the actual draft order deviate from the consensus from year to year.

I did get your point and you are right, the consensus was that boeser was taken one or 2 picks early but benning had him listed much higher, and based on how well he has progressed it looks like he could have been a top ten pick. Don't let a little playful Sunday banter bring you down, I still stalk...er no watch... er... no... follow you on Instagram.

Again, he's done a tolerable job. Not 'very good', IMO.

Too many critics with too much ammunition to ignore that he's made mistakes in judgement. But I've accepted the fact that he's here to rebuild the prospect pool and turn over the team to a younger core.

My concern is that the team is moving away from that original plan and trying to be too competitive too quickly. A more veteran GM might be able to keep the team going in the right direction regardless of the external pressures felt.

Regardless of the mistakes he has done a 'very good job'. Even though we missed the PO's last year we are heading in the right direction.

you're absolutely right we are...

and when you think about it last year was really weird....

the team dropped about 25 points from the previous year and you could make the argument that on paper they should've been a better team going into last year. BUT then consider that some core players missed a ton of games....

Hanson - 15
Edler - 30
Tanev - 13
Hamhuis - 25
Sutter - 60
Vrbata - turned into an idiot
even Prust was having a good year until his ankle injury

I know the injuries are part of hockey and every team deals with them but it showed that our depth is light (but thats what JB has been focussing on draft wise)

I don't think things are as bad as people make them out to be - if we stay even a little healthier this year - especially on D - I think we're a successful team again and moving in the right direction.

Nope i agree, with Gudbranson in the lineup and whatever else JB does i see us being a playoff team, especially if Markstrom gets alot more games so miller stays rested

JP takes me as the wild card I'm the draft. The ultimate boom or bust prospect. Could be the best player in the draft could be a guy who has trouble staying in the league. His play appears to be so up and down. And yes I know he's a kid but his inconsistences are far more apparent them all the other guys at the top. Just seems like a huge risk that high in the draft.

What's Hartnell got left on his contract ? How many yes? 1, 2? If its 2 or less and you can add a pick(2nd or 3rd) by taking him, I'd take him. Anything is better the Lucic at the money he's gonna get. He's this yrs Clarkson
6 yrs, 42 mill is my prediction
Rather give Brouwer 4 yr 16 mill

If playing with the Sedins is a big selling point, maybe 3 years is a good number as the Sedins may re-up for another season or two when their present contract expires.

We need some scoring added to the lineup and Eriksson fits the bill as well as any ufa out there.

- hillbillydeluxe

Hopefully he doesn't talk to Vrbata, because right now the promise of playing with the Sedins is the only reason he'd pick Vancouver. He'll have his choice of teams.

yep.
Vrbata was likely upset when he was taken off the Sedin line, and was upset when Bonino was traded.

Eriksson isn't a given, but I'm hoping, fingers crossed.
