yep.
Vrbata was likely upset when he was taken off the Sedin line, and was upset when Bonino was traded.
Eriksson isn't a given, but I'm hoping, fingers crossed. - hillbillydeluxe
I still think in the long run not signing anybig money contracts this summer is the best bet. You let burr and higgins play theirs out and don't have to pay the remained of the buyout the following season. Miller contract is gone. Canucks walk into UFA next summer with between 20-30 mill and have another top 5 pick. |

What's Hartnell got left on his contract ? How many yes? 1, 2? If its 2 or less and you can add a pick(2nd or 3rd) by taking him, I'd take him. Anything is better the Lucic at the money he's gonna get. He's this yrs Clarkson
6 yrs, 42 mill is my prediction
Rather give Brouwer 4 yr 16 mill - Bieksa#3
I think he has 3 years left at 4.75 million

I don't think many would argue except ownership and management, the club needs an injection of youth and skill and a top 5 pick is where you can find it.
With the the club wanting to make the playoffs, I will be happy with 1 or 2 ufa's on short contracts. I just don't want them to sign a guy that will be 37 when his contract ends. and what could be worse than term is over payment.
I'd rather they sign a lesser ufa if the big names are demanding too much.

I thought Trever said there is no way ownership was gonna get in the way of what was best for the team? So much for Trever being a stand up guy, eh? |

Thus my interest in Hartnell and the pick you get for taking him |

Tyler really wants to see angry birds. The pet one looks funny, but taking him to the theatres is still hard. If he can't play and watch the movie he gets antsy. Caroline is only 1 so she won't care about movies/tv for awhile. |

Yeah Reese is 4. Haven't had her in the theatre watching a movie yet. We're thinking this will be the first time. Huck also is one and won't be going |

If Benning didn't give stupid $$$ to Dorsett and Sbisa, they'd be in position to go after Lucic AND Ericsson - TheGame316
Sign Eriksson anyways but Lucic no way. |

Im tthinking Luoi gets 5 yrs 30 mill. I will say that I do think he is a fabulous 2 way player. As in Selke good. - Bieksa#3
I like him too and think he'd fit well on the Canucks, but that contract would make me nervous. |

Offer Eriksson 6m/1yr with an oral promise for another contract to keep him from being needed to be protected in the expansion draft. |

Sorry, I swing the big paint brush.
I remember wondering who was going to be picked, but not really knowing the players, I don't get too excited, or at least I try not to.... but iirc, that Beech kid was big and often people want the Canucks to pick a kid that played in BC or at least the western league.

I was expecting a little flack for the "I don't think many would argue", I know people want the high draft picks but some/many of the games last season were difficult to watch.
If we aren't going full tear down, I still want a little patience/restraint in signing ufa's to find the right fit. don't go all in for the best of the crop if it isn't the right player, stick a band aid on it until we get a better option in the next crop of ufa's.
Eriksson looks like a good fit... |

expansion draft
list of players with NM or NT clauses, that would NOT be exposed to the expansion draft
Alexandre Burrows
Alexander Edler
Jannik Hansen
Chris Higgins (limited; can submit a list of 8 teams he will accept trade to)
Dan Hamhuis
Ryan Miller (limited; can submit a list of 5 teams he will accept trade to)
Daniel Sedin
Henrik Sedin
So we only need to protect Markstrom in goal
Forwards hanson sedins will not be exposed....so our list of protected after our pick of 7 would be up to 10....11 if you count burrows. Higgins may opt to be included in the draft just to extend his career.
D...edler will be protected and if you keep tryamkin under 60 games this season he'll be protected too. We could pick 3 more on D, which brings us to 5. Def tanev, EG and Hutton. Larson wont apply unless they count his previous games with the oilers years back, but I think its consecutive years so I doubt he counts.
So that leaves only 1 forward exposed, 1-2 D and no goalies.
Doesnt look too bad for us
Makes you wonder if this includes anyone on the the AHL roster too which has been a bubble player |
