Took my 3y/o to see Zootopia in theatres. I liked it. Thinking to buy it.
- Retinalz

I took mine to angry birds in the Theatre. Good moral to the story. Worth the watch.

expansion draft

list of players with NM or NT clauses, that would NOT be exposed to the expansion draft

Alexandre Burrows
Alexander Edler
Jannik Hansen
Chris Higgins (limited; can submit a list of 8 teams he will accept trade to)
Dan Hamhuis
Ryan Miller (limited; can submit a list of 5 teams he will accept trade to)
Daniel Sedin
Henrik Sedin

So we only need to protect Markstrom in goal
Forwards hanson sedins will not be exposed....so our list of protected after our pick of 7 would be up to 10....11 if you count burrows. Higgins may opt to be included in the draft just to extend his career.

D...edler will be protected and if you keep tryamkin under 60 games this season he'll be protected too. We could pick 3 more on D, which brings us to 5. Def tanev, EG and Hutton. Larson wont apply unless they count his previous games with the oilers years back, but I think its consecutive years so I doubt he counts.

So that leaves only 1 forward exposed, 1-2 D and no goalies.
Doesnt look too bad for us

Makes you wonder if this includes anyone on the the AHL roster too which has been a bubble player

- SMBDragon

NTC do not have to be protected. Only NMC that run through 2017-18. Even players like Dan Girardi don't have to be protected because it changes from NMC to NTC.

Burrows, Higgins, Miller all will have expiring contracts but will be exposed unless they are resigned which is highly unlikely.

I'm not sure where you get your info but you should get up to speed before laying something like that down.

There is also a service time/age thing. I do not believe Horvat, and Virtanen need to be protected.

And your point is? He said they wouldn't be exposed. I said he's wrong and they will be.

I think the only player they need to protect is Gaunce from the AHL currently.

Tryamkin, Hutton and Virtanen don't need to be protected either. Must have played two seasons prior to the draft.

Carol's blog stated this a few days ago.

Hmmm, something doesn't add up. Tsn a fee days ago mentioned Draistl. He has 2 yrs expired which is 2 seasons. It's not like Dreger ever has a clue about anything else so Carol is probably right

The following are exempt:

Hutton, Tryamkin, Virtanen

It doesn't even matter how many games they play next year.

Protected:

Edler, Tanev, Gudbranson

Dank, Hank, Sutter, Hansen, Horvat, Baertschi, Granlund, Gaunce

Can't protect all but the list is more to show possibilities.

Exposed:

Dorsett, Sbisa, Vey, Etem

This is a big reason why trading for prospects/picks could be a smart plan because it gets some value for players they may not be willing to protect. It's another reason why I think Hansen gets traded. Not because they want to but it gives them another spot for another guy they may sign in FA this year. Either way we still look pretty good.

Players must have played 2 years prior to the start of next season basically. I think Draisaitl played enough games the year before. Only 10 have to be played to burn a year off ELC I believe.

As in they shouldn't be expanding? I mean bettman sure (frank)ed up this yr. The cap is expected to drop around 2 mill unless players use their escalator

I'm not saying he will be but if you remove Gaunce and Granlund from the list we have room for one more. This is why it's very possible some moves are coming at the draft. Take Hansen out and we have 2 more spots. I believe it's either 7F 3 D 1 G or 8 skaters at any position and 1 G
