So the Pens just won the Cup. What desperate need could they possibly have that trading Malkin would be necessary to fulfill? This has to be the crown jewel of Ek blogs . |

More importantly, we just won the Cup, were fairly dominant throughout the stretch and the playoffs even if two 6 game and one 7 game series suggest otherwise, and we are in a fine cap situation. Not only do we know this team works, but basically everyone's back next year and fits under the cap. Absolutely zero reason for a major shake up. |

Wait, the Malkin trade rumor isn't a joke? Oh, Ek... your hatred of the Pens is so transparent that you have to try to defecate on their day-after just to get some measure of pleasure from the hellhole that is your Flyer fandom. |

I always liked Kessel the player, great speed, great hands and a very reliable shot. I hated the trade that brought him to the Leafs because it was the critical moment when Brian Burke went against his promise to rebuild the Leafs through the draft.
I also think the Leaf fans overall always understood that Kessel got an unfair load of the criticism that was directed towards him. I believe the problem is and has always been the vultures of the self-centred Toronto media.
I believe that the majority of Leaf fans are genuinely happy for Kessel. Leaf fans are great and knowledgeable hockey supporters through some really ugly years. In order to understand what goes on in Toronto you have to make the separation between real fans and the media who are promoting their own self interest through pimping contriversy. |

Why are there no photoshopped images of Phil eating hotdogs out of the cup yet??!

Let's see...Ek posts a congratulations blog to the Pens at about 10:50 pm the night they win the cup...with the interesting title that says the cup is back to PA...not Pittsburgh...yeah, you KNOW we are sharing it with Philly, right?
Then only a few hours later posts that Malkin is E4...almost certainly out the door.
I'm not sure but it seems to me that someone is interested in moving past this Penguins victory as quickly as possible. - icedog97
How many of Ek's rumors relative to Pittsburgh become fact? Pretty much none of them. |

I once hit a man in Dearborn, Michigan. A hit and run. I hit him and just kept on going. I don't know if he's alive or dead... but I'm sorry. Not a day goes by I don't see his face. |

If Pens bombed out of the playoffs, Malkin could be on the table. But after dominating the whole playoffs and not being in cap hell, it wouldnt make much sense moving him unless someone blows the Pens away.
If Florida offers Ekblad, Bjugstad and Crouse, Id listen. |

I disagree with the bolded part of your statements. you should qualify it with "a few"... there are more than enough example just on this site to confirm that in general leafs fans are nothing like what you wrote. living in toronto, i've come across many that are totally rude and overbearing. |

Seriously I enjoy reading this site but to say that Chicago is one of the early favorites to land Malkin? Isn't there a such thing as a salary cap? |

I would have no problem moving on from Malkin. The biggest turning point of the season was when he got hurt and the HBK line formed. We just won a stanley cup with him playing more like a 3 mil 3rd line center than a 9 mill 2nd line center. If we got a Nick Bonino caliber center in return and maybe a winger so that Conner sheary wouldn't have to play with Sid it would be worth it. |
