My response to Sabres fans wanting Rick Nash: 32 years old, past his prime, too slow, not worth the money. Target youth and speed instead. - GilPerreault11
Agreed we have too many old people we need speed

Strange the Ducks bring back an old coach, thought maybe they wanted a new voice. - SABRES 89
They should have just stuck with Boudreau. |

Yup, and NBC is a pretty big company to sign a deal with. - Mentalorgasm5
and then they hold playoff games hostage to benefit cable companies and then post an article about how great their ratings were when they stopped holding the games hostage.
Sports is entertainment. if fans cant see the entertainment, the ratings go down. if ratings go down, advertisers get a little shy about spending money.
Show everyone the games, collect the ad revenue.
Not sure if you're trying to help or if you're just bored and want to argue with someone. |

He is one of the fall back plans if Stamkos doesn't work out, along with a few others. - SABRES 89
As he should be. He will be cheaper to acquire than most forwards. Patrick Sharp had a decent year for Dallas. It would be a similar trade |

Nash can motor.
The worst idea this franchise can have is trading a bunch of players away for another Kane type of forward (this is not meant to criticize him)
We can't do it. |

I mentioned Malkin also but I don't know how good of an idea it would be to trade for him. He's 31 or will be 31 and has 7 more years at 9.5 per, that's an awful lot to take on. I know Murray wants a winger for Eichel but don't know if Malkin is the answer, very good player but would be better if term and money was a little lower. |

I liked him with the Ducks, just seems the Ducks will have the same voice again just a little older. |

I think if Murray considers himself a scout at heart, he needs to find that diamond in the rough to wing for Jack. someone who is a little under the radar and may be just a few years older, but hasnt gotten a chance to shine. I have no idea who that could be.
Im definitely not interested in taking on a giant, lengthy contract of someone is over 30. |

I'd like to get Mark McNeil off of the Hawks, they drafted him a few years ago. As far as a winger for Eichel, I heard big names but that is just talking from within as of now. We all know Stamkos is the top priority. |

Hall at 18 had 22 goals in 65 games.
He if didn't get hurt so much, he's a top 5 winger. |

im not getting my hopes up for stamkos….its the Buffalonian way so im not disappointed.
Murray is at the point where he cant take on any veteran contracts and then watch the player just completely fall apart while we have to pay him for 5 more years.
Look at the kings and Dustin Brown…..yikes. |

Both Gaborik and Hossa have done admirable jobs, but their contracts are too long.
I have a feeling NHLteams are starting to look at some of these decisions a bit more closely. commiting to a guy at 7 years for a lot of money for a couple shots at the playoffs is kind of nutty. especially when there are so many factors when it comes to the playoffs. Stamkos is OK because he wont be that old after 7 years. But taking on someone like Nash could end up just being another Moulson. |

Hossa can retire and have no negative impact on their cap.
He is also only owed 8 mil over his next 5 years. |

I'd rather spend limited assets for 2 years of Nash, than spend probably more assets and give a big contract to a one dimensional guy like Hoffman.
This team can't invest big in wingers right now, unless it's for a guy like Stammer who's a top 10 player period.
This team should look for value adds or a top flight D |
