He is one of the fall back plans if Stamkos doesn't work out, along with a few others.

I saw this earlier but I never thought The Fourth Period was worth much

Sabres legit shot at Stamkos. Leafs, Wings, Lightning (still) and Habs on outside

I'd rather spend limited assets for 2 years of Nash, than spend probably more assets and give a big contract to a one dimensional guy like Hoffman.

This team can't invest big in wingers right now, unless it's for a guy like Stammer who's a top 10 player period.

This team should look for value adds or a top flight D

- sbroads24

Nash for 2 years is OK i guess. the only question i would have is what happens when his contract is up? Start the search again?
Rinehart may already be that guy, but I'd love to see Jack play with a dedicated winger for a long time. in fact, make that two dedicated wingers.

and then they hold playoff games hostage to benefit cable companies and then post an article about how great their ratings were when they stopped holding the games hostage.
Sports is entertainment. if fans cant see the entertainment, the ratings go down. if ratings go down, advertisers get a little shy about spending money.
Show everyone the games, collect the ad revenue.
Not sure if you're trying to help or if you're just bored and want to argue with someone.

1.5M more than the average for the series. Yeah, but also it was an elimination game so I'm sure that boosted it. Also the massive 31.7 share in Pittsburgh for the series compared to the puny 7.0 share for the Bay Area. Hell, Buffalo drew a 5.8. That does not bode well for west coast hockey. A 7.0 is nothing to shake a stick at, but when Pittsburgh draws a 31.7 that's pretty horrendous, and it's not like it went up against the NBA Finals either.

If Pittsburgh drew a 31.7 for the finals for their 4th overall Cup and 3 trip in 8 years. Imagine what Buffalo would draw. A 50? 60?

Also the game won the night in the 18-49 demo which is very good news for the league.

Bennett had a ok year I honestly thought he was gonna have a great year maybe around 26 goals something like that

That's exactly who we need. We need a winger who's a finisher. I have faith in Kane, but another one is sorely needed. We have enough distributors in ROR, Eichel and Reinhart. We need a guy who puts the biscuit in the basket. We need Thomas Vanek. Not him literally, but someone like him that stands in front of the net, takes a beating and scores 25-30 goals.

Bennett definitely showed flashes of brilliance in the year that 4 goal game was sick
I'm definitely going to pick him up in fantasy this year because I think he's going to have a really good year

Its all Bettmans plan that is just straight up failing….put teams in markets where people have plenty of other options and hope they watch. I mean, I guess 7% in San Jose is better than zero 25 years ago. But is it really benefiting the league, the broadcast companies and the advertisers? in the San jose broadcast area, I got to see game 3-6 of the finals and I think 2 other sharks playoff games as a non cable subscriber.

Wow... I'm gone for one day on here and people are posting that Finnish troll from the trade deadline and talking about proposed traded of a pinnacle of the franchise in Sam Reinhart.

We're not getting Taylor Hall. He's not for sale...

Reinhart isn't going anywhere unless Murray get's 1 or 2 or get's a top 10 LHD under 25. Good luck with that....

There's going to be a big need for the NHL to come up with some kind of package for people to watch their teams, in market, without cable. Even now on DirecTV you can get packages that don't include ESPN or NBCsports or any sports channels. That would've been unheard of 10 years ago. More and more people every year are getting rid of cable and are streaming games on YT and other, more nefarious sites, and they're not getting credit for ads watched that the NHL or whomever is being paid for. And declining viewers means less on the next deal. So eventually there's going to come a point where they're going to have to do something about it. And I bet ratings would never be higher if that happened.

Im everywhere...lurking
(but that deal depends, if the Avs already have Trouba or are using those pieces to get trouba then well I can accept it)

How exactly do you plan to get Trouba in this scenario? You've got Barrie coming to us so Duchene going to the Peg?

reinhart isn't going anywhere guys. He's part of our future. Can't believe this is even a topic right now. Risto, ROR, Kane, McCabe, Eichel and Reino are untouchables

yes or no.

No thanks. No need for another RHD. We already have Franson, Nelson, Bogosian, Ristolainen.

Why so much emphasis on value adds. I get the production for lower market value price thing but we are $25m u see the cap. We need quality not buy cheap and hope......

Someone with Barrie's skill level should not be dismissed within the same sentence as Cody (frank)ing Franson.

8th or 10th plus Bigras (I think a cost controlled LHS dman is what they are looking for)

EJ Zads
Trouba Juolevi (draft at one of the picks)
Pysyk Beauchemin

Excellent....excellent. Never going to happen but I would die in a eating celerbation

I found Rick Nash's career trajectory and why it's a good idea for the Sabres to trade for him
