In no way would I ever consider him to be a top notch guy, but no team is full of top end d-men, so I just don't get the hate on Pysyk when this team's issues are on the offensive end.

He was drafted 23rd overall in 2010 and only has 125 NHL games under his belt. Only 8 d-men in his draft have played more games, 2 drafted higher than him and 6 drafted lower

Pretty sure (hope) that most of us realize why he didn't play in Buffalo much in 14/15...I'm pretty certain it wasn't a concern with the player.

Ristolainen flat-out stunk in his own zone this year(for the most part, anyway). Gorges was meh. Bogo and Franson were trainwrecks.

But nope. It falls on the bottom-pairing guy making 1/70th of the cap because I'm sick of hearing the words "sneaky good" and "great outlet pass".

Regardless, I think the first 20-30 games of the season can be written off as Bylsma seeing what he had with the roster. Realistically people probably only had about 50 games of playing with linemates/pairings with a good bit of confidence that they would remain together.

I know a bunch of people were pissed at the "meaningless wins" late in the season, but I was happy to see the growth throughout the year and the improvements made with time spent together. I think it bodes well going forward.
