It would probably take trading Reinhart. They want a top line center. Crazy but i would consider it. Gotta ask yourself if Puljuarvi would be better suited on the wing than Reinhart long term because the reality is Reinhart will never play center here

If he doesn't want to sign with Buffalo, he won't want to sign with them just because we traded for his rights. Now. for me, Vesey is different. I find out from his best beer league buddy Jack if he's interested in Buffalo. If so, I send a 3 to NAS for his rights. Difference is, Vesey can't sign until 8/15 and the uncertainty affects the UFA period that opens up significantly earlier

Trading for his rights is very tricky. Not entering that tampering zone could be pretty tough. Getting an indirect commitment from a player with commitment issues is uncertain at best.

I wouldn't trade Reinhart. Even if the Stamkos deal falls through, Pittsburgh had 3 lines going. Reinhart could be your 3rd line center. I still think you can trade other pieces for the players we need.

I believe a NM clause also protects the player from having his rights traded. If this is the case, Yzerman would have to ask Stamkos to trade his rights so he would most likely want his rights moved to a team that he would like to sign with. Here is the question though: If Stamkos has decided on a team he would like to join, why would he make them waste assets on trading for his rights when he could just hold off until July 1st?
