"Daigle was a bust!! They're totally the same !!
And although I've probably only seen him play 3 times, some no nothing blogger told me what to think!! He's a bust!! He's worthless !! Hagg and a 3rd!!!
Something simething typical hockey nonsense .."

- HB77

The nice thing about this is that Daigle was a smart player who was one of the laziest poops to ever grace the game. Yakupov happens to be a very hard worker, but seems to have lost anything between the ears back at his 3rd concussion.

Not seems.

His hockey iq is as bad as I've seen

Dynamic player, but his head can't catch up to his feet/hands. So much effort with so little positive results

But in the right situation I think he can be effective. That heralded shot of his needs a ton of work too. But if he can just figure it out and get some confidence back, I think there'll be a happy gm that made a deal for him. Especially for the middling price it'll most likely cost

You would be lucky to get a bag of pucks for Yakupov. His value has dropped dramatically. It is irrelevant that he was drafted first overall. He was a bad pick in a soft draft year

Is everyone forgetting he was the consensus #1 over all by central scouting? People are so stupid and want to put the blame on the oilers for picking him even though at the time of the draft the kid was a godly goal scorer in juniors. He was the BPA at the time, just because other kids in his year are ahead of him now after 3 years doesnt mean poop, they drafted right, he turned out bad so far, it happens.

Montreal needs defence, so i don't think they'd give up what they might have to to get yakupov when they could go for a Dman instead. don't underrate Yakupov.
- thejonathans

This logic isn't so great. Also, how come we NEED defence? Sure we could improve it but as of today the D look like this:
Markov-Subban
Beaulieu-Petry
Emelin-Pateryn
Barberio.
This team need top 6 forwards more than anything.

what makes you think that's the case? it's a city with massive traffic congestion, pot holed roads, constant repaving work on highways, pollution and air quality alerts, heat alerts, poor/ unclean transit, excessive taxes, expensive utilities, etc...
- kaptaan

Extremes of winter and summer temperatures necessitating road work in a Canadian city? I don't believe it. The congestion and transit is pretty bad though.

Gee, sounds a lot like Vancouver minus the potholes, Vancouver has the worst traffic congestion of any city in North America.

She's older now, maybe she's homesick?

And please don't be one of the knobs that claims to have ' sources' but for whatever reason can't reveal them. ALL those guys are full of poop.

He needs to play with 2 very cerebral players to succeed. The first 2 that come to mind are the Sedin twins, but I'm sure there are others.

Vancouver weather is actually pretty great.

But I don't doubt Northern California has one of the most desirable climates in the world

But the bay areas population dwarfs greater Vancouver. That's pretty important to me. Just spent a year in Toronto and I'm over this much population

Pretty much no win situation for us poor oiler fans

If and when yaks proves to not be nearly as worthless as so many have suggested the last few days in eks threads, those same proclaimers will the say "that's ALL you got for a first overall !!!?? Chiarelli is so bad blah blah blah laughie emoticons etc"

Time will tell, but I believe, needs aside, a middle 6er or a quality prospect not far from stepping into the show

I think it actually is Toronto. The highway 401 section through the GTA is the busiest highway in the world. Which when you think about how much denser population centres there are in the world, that is crazy, that is terrible planning. They should have doubled and tripled the subways and other transit systems decades ago. But aside from that it's a great city, as is Vancouver. Canada just never developed the train systems of Europe and the US, and it sucks.

Didn't really wanna get into it, but the firm that figured out those "Vancouver is the worst in North America" in 2013, used numbers that were extremely flawed

I can't say much beyond personal anecdotal evidence, but claiming Vancouver is worse than huge sprawling metropolises like LA, Toronto, Boston etc seems abit crazy

http://www.cbc.ca/beta/ne...n-north-america-1.2417288

And yes, the 401 is a total nightmare

What I've read is Toronto's gridlock is considered the worst in North America. And obviously with all the goods and services being shipped through that area, it costs insane amounts of money in people just sitting there going nowhere. It's crazy, and the three levels of government can't get anything built, or build the wrong thing.

They could double the 401 in size and it would probably wouldn't even help. I can literally get from Mississauga to downtown TO faster on a bicycle than in a car during rush hour

On the Rumor Chart, it shows Vrbata with 90% overall, so does that mean 10% somewhere else? how come it shows 0% STL? what if he signs there? can you please fix that?

Huh?

What does needing a dman have to do with mtl also being interested in yakupov?
The two needs literally have nothing to with the other. Teams can have more than just one piece they'd like to acquire.
And neither was I adamant that mtl is desperate to acquire him. It's an Ek rumour for eff sakes. But nonetheless, there's a potential fit there.

And what do u mean don't underrate him? I've been watching the guy for 4 seasons. I know exactly what he is. I neither underrate him, nor ignore the serious issues with his game

- HB77

I didn't say it's not possible, but whatever they could give up in a trade for Yakupov could be used on a Dman, but Yakupov is a defensive forward, so i guess it might make sense if he went to MTL. but i think PHI would be a better fit.

what do you think EDM gets for him?

Wait. Did you just call Yakupov a defensive forward? I have no idea which emoji to use to conclude this reply.

Are you kidding? After all that training/coaching with Eakins in the bottom 6 how is he not a defensive forward?
