I always look for your opinoin on kids... no doubt about that... but I don't want anything to do with Keller. That was the point of my post. At #8... a 24 and 37 pt USHL seasons is not worth it. Girgensons showed better numbers than that in the USHL.

He broke Phil Kessel's record and Patrick Kane's record for points .
And I believe he's the 3rd person ever to have 100 points
And he also had more points than Jack Eichel did his first year
The most recent ones are Klingberg, ghost , parayko
Oh i'm sure when you look you'll say (frank) lol - GERBE!!!75PTS
Of the top 30 point scoring d-men (and all those tied with 30th, which I think brought me up to 33 players), guess how many were drafted in round 1 and 2?

90% is my guess since 95% of all percentages on the internet are made up
He was asked a direct question about Nylander and the draft at the Flames year end season ticket holder fundraiser, said it in front of 100s of people.

I said top 10 defenseman you won't see me female dog it's a late round pick defenseman in the first round or 2nd ( reason why you know they'll take time to develop and you won't be able to rush)
My point of drafting a defenseman top 10 is that some take so damn long to develop
And then you waste for years and then you find out they suck that's my only problem in the second round to last it's not a risk it all in my opinion

Kind of how homie and I thought you were ready, when in fact you were and are still years away..........

But my whole argument against your throwing out that there are so many good finds later in the draft is that sure, you'll get the occasional guy who will be good, but you're not finding those top pairing guys very much at all outside of round 1 nowadays.
ALL d-men are going to take time to develop - do you think the later round guys are turning into such studs quicker than those taken in the 1st??
6 of the top 10 leaders in scoring in the NHL in the regular season were 6'0 or under.
But please, let's continue to rip on Gerbe because he doesn't know what he's talking about - sbroads24
Its not about the height - its about the sturdiness. Granted, many of the players you name are not Holstein's either, but all but one is sturdier than Keller. (I know he will grow into his frame - I just don't want to spend a first round draft on a guy I have to wait for. I want much more immediate contribution from a first rounder.)

Oh.... ?
This includes what games though? I am really confused on how HOckeyDB wouldn't have these stats?
This is just in the US Developmental program games... so intersquad stuff basically. Not actual USHL games.

Draft picks are kind of funny math though, in a way.
A #2 overall is usually thought to be a lock, someone who has a chance to come in right away and will be a regular NHLer for years to come.
Factor that down to an 8th pick and yeah, you obviously hope he's playing for your team over the next 10 years, but I don't think 8th overalls are often considered locks to play all that quickly.
Reinhart as a #2 overall took a season away from the NHL - I would think 2 years (perhaps the max it might take?) for this Keller guy isn't unreasonable considering it that way.

I'm just saying it's a lot of pressure for A top 10 defenseman pick because if he's a Bust you basically wasted an opportunity to help your franchise when it's safer to draft one in the second round
Would you be more pissed if a defenseman was a top 10 draft choice and he busted or would you be pissed if he was a second round pick and he busted
