Shaw is more valuable than TT now. This move should allow Shaw to be kept, unless this is just the first domino. Hawks are also short on picks. TT could thrive in a less physical and grabby eastern conference.
Credit to Bowman for moving fast. I love this trade to no end.
Hawks have enough cap trouble. Cant take Malkin. Trade Kane? Really? This move allows them to save $5 mil in cap space and re-sign shaw as well as add some defensive depth. Maybe Crawford gets moved but i think this deal is great for Chicago, all things considered. TT was probably going to be left unprotected next summer and Vegas would have grabbed him for nothing. Great job Stanbo!

The hawks got cap space for a reason which is to give Panarin a raise not to acquire Malkin that's ridiculous. Sorry to see Teuvo go for a second round pick but no way anyone was taking Bickell without a sweetener.
If Malkin goes to the Hawks, Panarin will be gone as soon as they start talking money. That will be well over half their cap tied up in three players. I don't see that happening, but that would be a beautiful collapse. I have my a front row seat and popcorn ready.

No way Malkin goes to the Hawks, that's just ridiculous. They're moving salary to bring back Shaw and extend Panarin, not bring on another huge contract.
