I have been coming here for so long that that headline didn't even move the needle slightly for me. |

YES!!!!! Ron Francis is quickly becoming one of the shrewdest GM's in the NHL. So, for E. Staal we have gotten Saarela, Bickell, and Teravainen. Not a bad haul, indeed!! |

malkin going to the hawks? is this a f'n joke?
30.5 mil in three guys?
The trade was to clear cap space to round out the team, not allocate more cap space to 1 player....
...these rumours are completely non sensical. |

buying out brown is simply unfeasible from an economics standpoint, and has been covered numerous times. unless someone is willing to deal for him with picks/prospects to entice, or he gets taken in the expansion draft, the kings are stuck with him. |

The only way I could see the Hawks getting Malkin is if they trade Kane which I don't see happening. - Dannyboy
The only way I see it happening is if Seabrook, Schmaltz, Pokka and Hossa go the other way.
but seriously, why would he go to the bhawks to "be the guy" when they already have Keith, Kane and OToews??
I think Malkin goes to L.A., Detroit, or the Stars. |

Kings will hold him til expansion draft, if he is not selected then, high probability he will get bought out. But agree it will not happen this year. |

Exactly. Why is Malkin mentioned. Penguins just had their victory parade and Malkin was front and centre. He is not going anywhere. Ek, stop this lunacy and your brain dead predictions |

Bingo! Total BS. As much as I would love to see him in the Indianhead Sweater, cap number say it ain't so.
Congrats BTW, on your guys achieving hockey's holy grail. |

This was a great move for the Hawks. You know they had to sweeten the deal with Taravainen to move Bickell, but getting back some higher round picks should make up for the loss.
As for the Malkin rumor...Sad Ek....very sad...at least tell us all how exactly Malkin to CHI would work? Until then, as Adam Sandler once said "They're all going to laugh at you!"

With the trade, the Hawks cap number for next year is at $61M. That's for 7 forwards, six defenders, and two goalies. So about $10M for another 7 forwards (presumably including Shaw) and a defender. Plus Bread Man's bonus overspend from last season. THAT'S what this cap move was about. |

Someone from the organization is going to plant drugs on him ala Richards/Stoll. Still dont know how they got away with the Richards contract fiasco. |

Last off-season TT and Dano were gonna be studs, now, good riddance - ezekial
Anisimov more than compensated for Saad and Dano was a gamble, I don't think Columbus would have traded a stud. TT was a huge disappointment after the Hawks got to see a body of work over a full season. He did have a decent playoff run the year before but who wouldn't look good playing with a mix of Hossa, Saad, Kane and Vermette. It came down to keeping a proven 2 way player in Shaw or continuing the TT experiment, I think the right decision was made, time will tell. |

Ek, a typo is when you misspell a word, not when you write the wrong city entirely...
i know proofreading is hard and i would hate to see your integrity as a journalist tarnished...but this is the TITLE. The font is even bigger than the rest of the words you type.. |

That's what I thought too looks like the wings might be eating datsyuks cap hit next season - krk181
There's a big difference between Bickell and Datsyuk's contracts.
Bickell will be payed to suck for the canes or play for their AHL affiliate. Datsyuk is just a cap hit, the team won't have to pay him any money. |
