I just caught part of the news, they said there weren't supposed to be any alligators in the water/lagoon and when they went to look for the 2 yr old, they found 3.

I guess there was a certain sense of safety/security at a Disneyland resort.

It is nothing at all like Disney in Anaheim. It's the size of San Francisco.

You take buses to go from park to park......plenty of trees and swamp.

I'm not aware of the story, but my thought would be what is the point of charging the parents?
Is any punishment going to come even close to the grief they are going to feel for the rest of their lives? Will it prevent/deter other parents?

I went as a kid, and remember going to Gatorland Zoo. the place we stayed at had a pool, never thought of gators beyond visiting the zoo.

The news report said there was a no swimming sign but also said there wasn't any sign warning of gators... I didn't realize the water was connected to other water, it seems like you are asking for trouble having a beach there then.

I am not sure if I feel remorse as we don't have enough details... the average Anercian isn't very intelligent. A small town family from Nebraska may not be very educated so it's possible they didn't even no there are gators in Florida...who knows if they were negligent or ignorant
