Probably AHL top line to start(depending on training camp) and then eventual call up to 3rd line.

Sounds good to me. I'm excited based on what I've heard about him, just never actually seen him play.

Talk about being an emo...

What kind of improvement are you expecting out of Teravainen for him to be that much better of a player?

Both are undersized skilled players who still need to prove they can be more than tweeners.

They have both played 140 games in the NHL so far in their career, including playoffs, and 58 and 55 pts respectively.

Teravainen is 2 years younger but also has played been playing on the best team in the league.

He spent almost half his ice time last season with either Hossa and Toews (30.1%), Panarin and Kane (10.9%) or Kane and Anisimov (8.5%)

Lets see him playing with Staal and Skinner or Lindholm and Nordstrom and see how much he improves upon his 35 point season.

Great post! I was in the process of researching TT's linemates

I think those are pretty lofty expectations, Boeser had a great season this year but like most players he will likely still need a year or two in the AHL before making the jump.

I'm very high on Boeser...I think he will kill it with Jost this season and make the team next year. Unreal shot, decent skater, solid passer and he has adequate pro size. I suspect he will be a solid top 6 player by the 2018 season, perhaps sooner

We shall see...McCann made it and Boeser is bigger and I think more skilled. I think he will surprise. I hope anyways

What do you guys think of potentially giving JV more time with the twins this year, not a regular spot just every one in a while? I figure now with some nhl experience he might excel at the kind of role burrows always played with them, being a physical presence and clearing space.

Smartypants!!! I'm allowed to have a hardon for the occassional player too ya know!!!

Its hard work hating bipolar Canuck fans all day....

EDIT: Your argument is what we call the straw man argument but I get where youre going and one could argue that maybe Toews benefitted playing with TT over Hossa

I'm in the minority I think given how the lineup is in the air he should spend at least half the season in Utica to learn to become a good pro. Daniel I'm sure was calling out both jv and Jared last season because of their work ethic. Jv could use some of that learning that it is a privilege to be in the NHL and not a right.

You know, having seen the Canucks tv bit about where he was living in Van this year and the car he drives, etc. I think maybe you are right on that point.

no you're not. you are only allowed to be completely negative or undyingly positive. there is no middle ground.

from all that i've read, i'm pretty sure i'm lumped into the "nattering nabobs of negativism." (bonus points for those that understand that reference.)

come join me on the dark side.

JV seeing McCann getting traded away hopefully opens his eyes and he starts playing 60 mins a game.

I expect him to get the same treatment as JV and JM got this year once he leaves, though less trips to the pressbox. Probably playing bottom 6 F, with a few shifts or opportunities up the lineup when injuries occur. Playing college as an 18 and now 19 year old against guys as old as 25 and how often they are in the gym throughout the year I think will have him better prepared for the NHL speed and physicality than McCann and JV were against 16-20 year olds

For sure, I also think it is hard gauging players in the NCAA, the competition is all over the place from team to team, division to division, year to year.

We haven't even been able to see him at prospect camp and he didn't really stand out during the WJC.

McCann surprised a lot of people at camp but IMO it was clear he didn't belong in the NHL after we saw him for a couple of months. Will the team still be as hell bent on rushing prospects in next year ? I don't know but I don't think playing in the NHL is always a sign that a player is actually ready.
