Eichel was in the same breath as McDavid at one point with the whole "McEichel" trend going on and was said to be the best American prospect since Modano. I have not heard that kind of praise on Matthews at all this year. Now that may be due to him playing in Europe and avoiding the spotlight (what does that say about his character btw ?) but everything I read say he would of probably been selected 3rd behind Eichel and McDavid last year. Matthews may be the better two way player like a Kopitar or Toews, but Eichel will more likely produce more points and be more flashier offensively like a Seguin or Stamkos. - Pegullaville
I agree that eichel has more offensive flair but other then that both extremely close in other areas of the game. Here is a nhl.com article from earlier this year.
https://www.nhl.com/news/...-end-talent-skill/c-42024
The post has one but i dont quite agree with the eichel cant carry mathews skate remarks.
http://www.nationalpost.c...hl-is-going-to-be-special
And espn too
http://espn.go.com/nhl/st...best-player-world-not-nhl
By all accounts they will be compared their whole careers. To say laine belongs with them is a joke.

Eichel has one of the best shots in the game already, gonna score a lot of goals. Leaf fans get carried away because good things like a lottery win just doesn't happen to Toronto. Matthews may never be as good as Eichel but I think he's the next best thing. Cheers |

I'm going to tell you this in the nicest way possible but if an American team was drafting Matthews they would not give the hype that he's getting now and you can't tell me that's not true .
and they are just rankings it doesn't mean you guys are going to take him I'm just Ranking the best person right now and that would be laine
He dominated at world juniors breaking records for the first rookie ever for the most points correct ? ( might be wrong could be Forsberg )
Got mvp
He dominated worlds by being the first under 18 player to have the most points
Correct ? Got mvp - GERBE!!!75PTS
I could be wrong but i think the other finn was the highest scorer at world juniors nd laine and Mathews had the same totals but this is all off memory, i could be wrong. Laine also did not lead the Worlds in points |

Eichel being in the same breathe as Mcdavid is the exact same thing as whats happening with Mathews Laine.. media hyping it up making them enemies making them go against eachother when it shouldnt be. Mcdavid was easily the better prospect as Mathews is to Laine.. mathews playing in europe shouldnt question his character at all, he was able to go there and make money while challenging himself more then if he was playing in USA. |

Somehow I get the sense his drop is more of a chat room thing and less an NHL scout thing. I don't know why I say it, just a total hunch. - Der Kaiser

Was a good show until he left
just like that 70 show when Kelso left (frank)ing weird ass Randy I think that's his name - GERBE!!!75PTS
Kelso never left, did he? Eric did. But yes, that show was horrible after he left, and when Donna dyed her hair. |

Kelso was only in 4 more episodes than Eric. I'm not sure how much of that was spread out over the 8 seasons, but there were 200 episodes of the show. Kelso was in 183 and Eric 179. I really don't remember the last season, mainly because I only watched like 4 episodes, because it was dogpoop after Eric left.
Edit: I also died a little inside when Donna dyed her hair. |

It was, and like someone else mentioned, The Office without Michael was a poor shadow of itself too. |

Glenn Tucker runs Shoot To Score and he was my hockey coach for 2 years. Pretty cool how's he working with my new favourite player now and NHL players worldwide |

The Office was definitely a shadow of its former self, but it was still head and shoulders better than That 70's Show without Eric. |

This article on Jack written in February. Showed just how good he is/how quickly and well he picked up the pro game. The funny thing is the Sabres as a whole were either average or above average in all the possession driving categories listed. |

i mean if Anaheim is really fielding calls on Andersen, how can GMTM not try and work a package out for him and Fowler... you get the D man and a legit future No.1 goalie thats basically saying "show me something" to Robin Lehner |

Would likely cost
2nd round pick Ullmark, Bailey and Girgensons. Just to start the conversation |

i have no problem with these two. I even wouldn't mind throwing Ullmark, but i'm on the fence with Bailey. If Jack can get Vesey, i would be more open to bailey |

My way of winning the hockey offseason Rex style
Trade #8 and Bogo to Edm for #4
With #4 draft tkachuk or dubois, whomever we have rated higher
Trade girgs and a #3 for Fowler
Sign Yandle
Sign Vesey
Re-sign Johnson to backup lehner
Offseason won, team still young, depth pretty insane - turbo044
While I suspect ANA would need more for Fowler, I'd be thrilled if this all happened and I'd predict an advance in the first playoff series. |

Had to check the score to see if you were being serious or not!
I am all for game 7's no matter what sport.
I would like Lebron to win one in Cleveland just so everyone will shut the (frank) up about how he couldn't win one without D-Wade. Either way win or lose that is all ESPN will talk about anyway, and I think that is why he gets so much hate. |

I think that Andersen is a very good goalie. You would have to worry about one of them getting poached in the expansion draft. |
