I don't think going back to the CHL is bad if they aren't allowed to play in the AHL. It might have been better if McCann had gone back to jr instead of staying with the Canucks last season... - hillbillydeluxe
Yeah agreed. He has decent height but he doesnt have much weight too him, i seen they have him coming in every day at like 9 to work out and on an eating plan but he is never going to be a 200 pound guy, which is fine though. - ClarksonDavid
Just gotta look at a guy like Tyler Johnson 5'8" 185lb soaking wet, and plays against teams top dmen.
Canucks Comets Aces. Good deal because we can keep a closer eye on prospects - VANTEL
I guess what I'm asking is do all the former kalamazoo wings just get imported into the other roster? Cause that seems like a big influx of players for 1 team

Yes, Kalamazoo is now affiliated with the Lightening. Canucks prospects will report to the Aces

I don't know much about Marner.
Just saying, if people think a player should be in the AHL but isn't allowed to play there, going back to jr doesn't stunt a players development.
Playing in the NHL when they aren't ready is another story. - hillbillydeluxe
Problem with playing in junior when they're not quite ready for the NHL but too good for junior is that you don't learn anything new. You're no longer directly under the NHL team's umbrella and bad habits can start to creep into their games because they can literally coast through the CHL season and still put up numbers. I've always believed that 18-20 year old players that aren't quite ready for the NHL but are on the cusp need their own development league, but the CHL would scream about losing money/players.
If a trade was made of Higgins for Brown(2-2.5m retained) + Adrian Kempe. I would personally be behind this as for 3.3-3.8mil Brown can still be a useful player for a team like ours. We can include with the trade that the NMC changes so we don't need to protect him come expansion. And we get a very talented prospect in Adrian Kempe in the deal. What do you guys think?

Improving the smaller, more detailed aspects of the game (especially defensively) and play away from the puck can stagnate as players become complacent dominating much lesser competition.
Outside the bandaid signings he started out with, he has really done a great job keeping these young guys humble while maintaining RFA status. Great job with Granlund and Baerstchi. - WhatTheNuck
yup liked both those trades
granlund will be a solid 3rd....maybe upside 2nd centre. his ceiling would be backland I think
